It's tough, because ... I can write non-con, I can write consensual, but for the past few years dub-con has made me nervous and anxious. Especially in this case, where it's not entirely clear how much of Linksano's feeling for Linkara are, frankly, Stockholm Syndrome.
Personally I'm trying to push the angle that Linkara is horrified by that idea and trying to guide Linksano to a healthier relationship, hence the BDSM play with a safeword. Linksano would have been fine with Linkara just punishing him for real and leaving, but Linkara doesn't want to do that, he doesn't want to degrade Linksano or anything.
Clearly I am thinking too much about this when the goal is the same as it usually is: to trip two characters into bed because they're hot and I want them to be happy.

Well, the fic is torn between both. I was trying to justify someone with self-diagnosed Stockholm syndrome going from fantasizing about Linkara killing him and thinking "It's what I deserve" and ending with at least mostly-consensual BDSM play. Which I love. And want them to love. And be consensual and safe about.
