Torchwood Recap/Rant/Mindless Babble: SPOILERS!!!
Yay! Torchwood! *does happy dance*
You know what's even BETTER than Torchwood? Encore episodes at eight!
Ok, so, when I saw the promo for episode 2 I was all 'Oh, great ... sex demons ...' which get kinda old when you watch sci-fi/fantasy shows.
To my surprise, the episode wasn't that gross! It didn't go overboard and was pretty well done! And the girl didn't die! I was certain she was going to die the moment Gwen pulled all that info on her. But she didn't die, and Gwen saved the day!
And all the snogging ... honestly, WHAT is the fascination with two women making out to men who are heterosexual in any way? I just don't GET IT. It's pretty gross, but on the show it was kinda funny. Also, Toshiko was watching and not objecting too ... god is EVERYONE BI?! Arrrgggh ... I'm so confused! I'll just apply my life-rule: everyone is bi until further notice. I mean, I knew Captain Jack was pansexual or whatever because he's from the 51st century, but still ... Owen and Gwen have me SO CONFUSED. God ...
And Jack, word of advice: the longer you keep secrets from the staff/your friends, the more they'll feel betrayed and distrustful when all the secrets get out. I mean, WE all know you're from the future and a former Time Agent and ran around with the Doctor, but THEY don't.
And that thing with the Doctor's hand - the Hand I guess I should call it - I squeaked when its case got shattered. And Jack practically crying over it was great.
Is the perodactyl EVER going to be explained? Or is it just there to mess with our minds?
And all the bird-eye-view shots and zooming in at night and stuff - I get worried there's an evil spaceship or dragon or something up there about to attack. Does anyone else get that feeling?
Poor Captain Jack ... you know he just hangs around Torchwood all night, lonely and brooding at staring at the Hand, possibly petting the hiterto unexplained perodactyl like a dog, mulling over all the secrets he won't tell. *files this away for future crossover fics*
I like how Gwen's boyfriend's dialouge is always drowned out. That poor actor will have one hell of a job finding another part someday.
Ianto is CUTE and FUNNY. Still can't get over how he creepily reminds me of Warren from Buffy. Don't ask me why, that's just what I see ... but Ianto just coming in when Gwen is half choking Owen (wow, they're names are pretty close!) and Jack is glowering cheerily and Toshiko said something ... then Ianto comes in with CHINESE FOOD - I nearly died. Don't know why ....
The lunch conversation was funny ... Owen 'figuring out' that Jack is gay ... half right, you poor man ... and when Gwen is staring at the screen watching - damn I can't remember her name, it starts with a 'C' I know that - cry in her cell I felt HORRIBLE. *files cell information away for future crossover fics* *plotting a 'Sylar visits England' fic*
Another thing. In the DW episode beforehand, Queen Victoria says this:
And if this Doctor should return, he should beware. Because Torchwood will be waiting.
So does that mean the next time the Doctor drops by Jack and Co will arrest him? *giggles* That'd be funny ... and scary ... oh dear ... with Buffy and Angel crossover episodes are fun, a chance to see your favorite characters interact, but I have a feeling that with DW and Torchwood they'll be all-out WARS.
Oh, and I just realized last night that there's Doctor Who writing in Torchwood. You know, the circles and watch-interior stuff? Can anyone even READ that? How does one WRITE that? With a pencil and the bottom of a coffee cup?
(A/N: From Monday morning to Friday night I shall be without internet OR computer. No fic writing, so commenting, so fic reading. I'll have SUCH a lot to do next weekend ...)
