Due to the lack of survival instinct by Canadian Geese and drivers that have trepidation about running over a bird the size of a small dog, I was in a car accident this past thursday (june 30th) at 8am on I-75 on the way to work. A car in front of me slammed on its breaks and then swerved into the left lane. I slammed on my breaks and, coming nearly to a complete stop, managed to not rear end the person. The squawking, injured canadian goose in front of me was the apparent cause of their erratic driving. I took my foot off the break, but before I could accelerate, I was rear-ended... by a semi-truck. Lucky for me, he was a good driver and managed to make it a glancing blow. I am alive and uninjured. And oddly enough neither his nor my airbags deployed. The flock of canadian geese continued to mill around on the right hand berm of the highway and occasionally get run over as many of them were too stupid to not flutter into the wave of loud, moving morning traffic. My car was still driveable... spoiler broke off, some dents and scarring on the back end, and my driver's side tail-light is completely toast... but I was able to drive my car away after an hour or so of policework. The semi, however, could not drive away as his vehicle was leaking antifreeze. We believe some of the fiberglass from my tail-light must have cut his anti-freeze hoze. Needless to say, I'm very freaking lucky and blessed and after two days, I still don't feel any injuries. Guess that means I'm suppose to be around for a few more years to accomplish my dream of taking over the wor.....worcestershire sauce making-factory, yea, that's what I mean. Everybody drive safe, and please, please set in your mind that people>animal and that if you have to run over an animal (excepting deer, they can tool you) to prevent an accident and possible human fatalies that you should do it. If you don't make this decision beforehand, you certainly won't be able to do so in the mini-seconds you have to make a critical decision during a hazadous situation. Anyhow, I'll catch everyone later, I have more air to enjoy breathing.
