I am a loving, caring mother... honest...

My 12 yr old son called me up the other night from a youth activity at our church. It was a combined boys/girls activity, and they were playing "strobe dodge-ball" in the gym. "Mom, I got hit in the face with a dodge-ball and got a bloody nose, and I can't see out of one eye." I am sad to say that the first question out my mouth was not "Are you all right?" or "Should I come get you", but rather "Did you bleed all over the brand-new carpet?" *hangs head* His eye was swollen so I took him to the doctor yesterday, who sent us to the optometrist down the street, who dilated his eyes (making him look like Chiana) and did a very thorough search. Glad to say, his eye is fine, though concussed (did you know that eyes could get concussed?). It's still slightly swollen, and he keeps it scrunched closed, and it's tearing up occasionally still. But it's getting better. See, I'm not *completely* heartless.
