Aislyn's at 10lbs 7oz and 22" (that's 2lbs 2" in 6weeks yay), breastfeeding is going great aside from being completely unresponsive to the pump but it's not like I really leave her alone a lot. It seems my mom had the same problem with pumping as well as my husbands aunt, she said she could hand express but I still don't get much hand expressing either. She's sleeping through most nights as well, and the one's she doesn't are usually my fault (I have an issue with getting paranoid and poking her when she's sleeping sometimes). She's sleeping 6hours as a rule now at night with a 4 or so hour nap during the day, her longest sleep was a 9hour night, mommy was happy.
Anyone else getting (what I'm calling) parental insomnia? There are times no matter how tired I am i just can't sleep, my dad said he's had the problem for the first few years I was alive (he'd coined the term for me lol). My husband seems to get it a little bit but I only get a good sleep about one night a week no matter how good the baby is sleeping.
We were at a wedding the end of september, Aislyn was amazing, my husband and I were both in the wedding party so the bride's aunt held the baby during the ceremony. She didn't cry once. I have a few pictures of her I took to add at the bottom but I'll have some more when they get their pictures back, the photographer tool some pictures of her.
We're moving into the house on the 25th. I'm really excited I want to pack up and leave today but we're still painting. This'll be the first year that we won't turn the lights out and pretend not to be home on halloween, I've even bought candy for the kiddies. The thought of moving is even more appealing due to the fact our apartment is infested again, I had to throw out all our pillows the other night and I'm thinking a lot of out blankets are going to have to go. Anyone know if there's something I can spray the furniture with to make sure no bugs come into the new house with us? Something baby safe of course. We were there on saturday painting and since there's no furniture in the house I needed to find somewhere to sit when she got hungry I ended up sitting in that bathtub to feed her, I wish we would have gotten a picture.
On a funny note, my in-laws bought the house we're moving into, they'll be renting it to us at cost and if we decide we'd like to stay there more then a few years they'll sell it to us. Since it's their house they're paying for the renovations that are getting done but they let me pick the paints out. My mother in law didn't like the colour I picked out for Aislyn's room, she thought it was too dark. She was at the apartment the other day just before she was picking up the paint, and made quite a few comments about the colour of the babies room, my husband was on his computer not in the conversation at all and after about 10 minutes of her talking about colour affecting mood, and me saying that it may be so for some people but it's not true for me and that I strongly believe that bedrooms should be slightly darker then the other rooms (It's a smokey lavender colour in her room I'm not a fan of traditional baby colours anyway), my husband peeks around his monitor and says "Who's Aislyn's Mom anyway?" His Mom (who other then this colour thing is great) just stops and blinks and says "sorry it is your house and your daughter." All I could do was laugh and think "what would she do if he hadn't talked me to the lighter purple" originally I'd had a darker eggplant purple picked out which yes it is too dark for a babies room.

ETA: After we worked on the house we stayed with my inlaws for thanksgiving weekend and I managed to read an entire book in one day. It was The Birth House by Ami Mckay, I highly reccomend it, it's about a girl learning to be a midwife at the time when OBs were starting to become the norm.
