(Ernie, posted by Shaun with the permission of Jamie.)

"What?" Ernie was momentarily distracted by the mention of Michael's name. He blinked owlishly up at Linus before blushing furiously. "No, no we never... We're just good friends, is all. I'm not even his type."

Ernie's neck arched instinctively as Linus' fingers continued to play along it. Yes, the scents, the feel of things were changing ever so slightly, so gradually that Ernie had no time to ponder the change. And more flashes of memory... Were the memories prompting the change, or vice-versa? The scent, it had wrapped Ernie in comforting warmth on so many occasions, not the least of which was the day after his heart had been broken, when he had fallen asleep on his friend's shoulder. He gasped at the first touch of wetness upon his skin, the finger trailing down his neck and leaving the trail in its wake

Ernie's lips paused in their ministrations when the hand coddled him. He took a few moments to breathe, his cheek moving to press against Linus' chest and his arms wrapping around his middle. He was... confused, thoughts and feelings and sensations swimming through his body as his mind seemingly couldn't decide where he was and with whom. But he did know. He was with Linus, Linus with whom he could be vulnerable, and who'd been vulnerable with him in turn. Yet for all of Linus' words about living in the moment, there was something notably off, almost wrong but not quite.

And then he was distracted again, this time by the request to move back and the placement of lips against his neck. In that moment, he was completely gone, his mind having room for nothing but the sensation of a warm mouth along his flesh. It was followed by the tease of hair and the touch of a hand that had him gasping. His hand slid along Linus' arm and to his shoulder, not restraining but caressing instead, almost scrambling for purchase as his mind was lost in the feelings Linus was wringing out of him.

"Mmmmmm," he rumbled, his head back, neck arched, and body pressing absently up into Linus' where their hips met.

Linus encouraged the fireworks to explode in the mind of Ernie. With a simple kiss, Linus intended to plant first a seed of tingling, which grew into the warm sensation almost velvet in nature to such an action- especially when done against a neck. Such fireworks were realized by Linus the moment Ernie became proactive. He pushed his hips absently perhaps into Linus', where the energy centers of two male bodies met. Linus ground back, slithering his pelvis with a dancer's flexibility down and scooping up into Ernie. With it came an entirely a new burst of energy and heat. It accentuated the vulnerability and dominance between them, yet the simple and mutual desire to come together and share pleasure.

Linus emitted his first grunt against Ernie's ear. It was almost like the low purr of a pleased cat, save for the sharp inhale of air after. A puff of breath exuded its warm and paradoxically steadying but enthralling presence on Ernie's exposed neck. Hands shifted with confidence, bordering on arrogance, for they found Ernie's tie and demanded it leave. Linus even whipped it from around Ernie's neck and threw it away. It took only a moment for the hand to return to the space between dress shirt and flesh, its presence surging back to attention when Linus courted Ernie back, thumbing the nub and then scraping in circular fashion its bump with his thumbnail.

At the exact same time, Linus demanded Ernie's vocal chords, for the instant he teased this new area of exploration he rawly took the spongy texture of tongue and applied it from adam's apple to chin in a motion that encouraged voice to follow its track. Gray- no, blue- eyes studied Ernie when lips descended and comparatively tenderly calmed nerves by settling a kiss against the round of the Huffelpuff's chin. A calm before the storm if ever there was one.

Ernie wasn't quite prepared for the contact of their hips, of the feel of another male moving against him in such an intimate way, separated only by thin layers of clothing which did nothing to disguise the heat and hardness within. His lips parted as if to gasp, but no sound came out. His eyes were closed in what to any observer might seem to be pain, but was nothing but intense pleasure that sent his head spinning.

For a moment, in the midst of the new sensations, he felt an altogether familiar emotion... guilt. What would Meg think if she saw me like this? But the thought was not wrought from some misguided sense of monogomy for his ex-girlfriend. No, he had over the last month taken the torch that still flared for her and reduced it to the level of a candle - often with the use of negative reinforcement - though that candle still burned strong within him. He somehow knew it always would. What brought on his guilt was the knowledge, brought on by certain instances, that she would no doubt think herself wanting as a female at the simple knowledge that his own interests were more... diverse.

Was that what had kept his mind from analyzing his feelings and ease over that kiss with Colin? What had kept him from going further into his own mind and desires? He had always been rather obtuse when it came to such things as attraction, yet now an entire world had been opened up before him... and he had deliberately shut a door on half of it because he was afraid of hurting someone he cared for.

He pushed the guilt away and was strangely pleased by the low grunt Linus released. As his own tie was disposed of, his hands grew bolder, sliding up and down the smooth, muscled back of his friend. And then a tongue, wet and strong, slid along his throat. His head stretched further back, as if offering more of himself to the delicious torture as a strangled Oh! escaped from his lips.

His breathing was shaky, all of his senses seeming to be stimulated at once. The hands that were caressing Linus' back moved, one to slide down his side, and the other to tangle in the dark strands of hair at the base of his neck. "Oh, please," he begged senselessly, eyes closed tightly and not quite knowing for what he was begging. "Please Michael, I need..."

The soft glow of candlelight, so warming and safe in its resonance. It banished the darkness of disbelief, despair and mental destitution. It pushed the frontier of all-encompassing black away with a beckoning halo. Such was the nature of Megan Jones' candle, but here to attest this day, Linus would see a second candle added. And Ernie seemed in need of such illumination.

The strike of the match was not a spark, but the warm, moist caress of a boy's tongue upon deliciously vulnerable throat. Linus had laid out the path for Ernie, now he would force him to walk it. He sat upon Ernie's lap, thighs gripping him; his seat anchoring him; his source pinned to another's. His hand rested upon Ernie's flat breasts. Young Vaisey's intentions became subtly clear- domination for enlightenment. As the last minute muscle cells of Linus' tongue left Ernie's exposed pseudo g-spot, the words came from him.

The match lit the candle and a new source of light would warm Ernie. Vaisey watched Ernie's face, waiting for a new light- a dawn- to come over Ernie. Blue orbs studied him, and in his waiting Linus sat inert upon Ernie. He no longer gyrated or dug into him. His place in this was done.

"You said Michael..." Came an amused, chuckled coo from Linus, breathh steady and exhaled while lips hovered over Ernie's. He waited- waited for that glorious revelation to sweep Ernie, and to be the first to look upon reborn eyes when they opened in this epiphany.

The delicious pressured against his hips disappeared suddenly, and he whimpered in confusion. "Wh-what?" he asked, eyes blinking open owlishly as he looked at Linus and wondered why it had ended. He unconsciously licked at his dry lips as his mind gradually rose through the fog of the sensations he'd been subjected to.

And then Linus' words sunk in.

"What? No I didn't," he protested, though in truth, even he wasn't certain what his lips had muttered at the time. All he knew was that whatever he'd said had ended the wonderful feelings, and now his brain was clearing enough to think again - and he didn't want to think, not yet.

A chuckle poured from Linus, who sat straddled upon Ernie's hips with a rise of his brow, setting itself under dark hair. He scoffed, one cheek rising and creasing with it. "Have I lied to you yet?" Leaning down, the boy folded his limbs and placed their crossed shape gently against Ernie's chest. "Would I make up something like that?"

Blue orbs instructed Ernie to look within, gazing at him steadily. All the while, patient amusement came from him, an exuded flavor that tinged the air and energy about them. "I've seen how you look at him when he's not looking. My question is, are you even aware of it?"

A second rise of an eyebrow, and Linus moved closer- deliciously close, his lips hovering so near that little puffs of air were sensible on his words through the Hufflepuff's lips. "Think about it. Can you imagine bending him over and having your wicked way with him? Scrunching up his face in that exquisite pleasure-pain mix, knowing its your doing?"

Ernie wanted to argue, but he knew it was true - Linus had never lied to him in the time they'd known one another. "No, I know you wouldn't, but-"

He sighed, trying to ignore the continuing needs of his body as he obeyed his friend and looked into Linus' eyes. "What way is that?" he asked, though he didn't know if he wanted to know the answer. "We're just friends, Linus. I don't know what you see..."

The lips came closer, and Ernie's eyes closed as he felt Linus' breath against his sensitised skin. He did his best to ignore the words, but they were heard nevertheless. He couldn't deny the appealing images they brought to mind, though for some reason his mind switched roles and had him being bent over, but he wasn't giving in as easily anymore.

Was Linus just teasing him, like Megan had done after Myrtle had told her the secret? What was he doing, and why? Ernie simply didn't understand, and the thought that his friend was playing with him in that way hurt and upset him. He turned his face away, his hands falling away from Linus' body to grip onto the chair beneath him.

"What are you playing at, Linus? Why are you doing this?"
