With wide, reverent eyes upon the young Nott, the House Elf closed the door. Its head swiveled almost impossibly in continued regard of them until he turned around. "Master Simeon and Mistress Niamh will be down in but a moment, Young Master Nott. The Young Master just arrived via portkey and refreshing in his quarters now."

The House Elf walked with unusual grace through the foyer, dwarfed by his human-sized surroundings. "If the Masters Nott will follow, I will see to it they are given a comfortable place to sit."

A woman's voice picked up then. She was a black-haired, rare beauty with magnificent blue eyes, in many ways the feminine version of both Theodore and Vaisey when one looked for the right features. "Rupreckt, please go and look in on Linus."

From the shadow of the hall, the beautiful woman who seemed somewhat ageless stepped into the full light. She wore a conservative but very elegant gown, her hair pulled back into a lovely roll-like bun. She advanced after looking the two men over. "It has been ages..."

Rupreckt, the small House Elf, bowed low at his mistress' bid but slunk away up the stairs.

Theodore smiled softly, growing more timid in the presence of his aunt, a common reaction when he was in the presence of motherly figures, and he bowed his head low, tucking his hair behind his ear as he straightened himself.

"Aunt Niamh," he said in soft greeting, eyes fluttering away almost shyly.

"Theodore." Niamh's voice was soft, melodic... and so much like her sister's. Her arms rose, her feet carrying her towards the strapping boy before her. "You look absolutely wonderful." Those arms at first cupped Theodore's shoulders while she looked him over. Her deep blue orbs were bright and expressive while she studied her nephew. And then she moved and planted upon his cheek a kiss. "Its wonderful to see you, lad."

Smoothing hands down Theodore's arms in a motherly, fussy way, Niamh looked at Edric and then back to his son. "You've grown up wonderfully. Tell me all. What have you been up to?"

The young Slytherin smiled, flushing lightly.

"I'm afraid there's not much to tell on my side, beyond school. Been keeping busy with my studies." His eyes flitted between their hostess and his father with a smile...It was technically the truth.

An appreciative hand touched the back of Theo's neck then, and Edric would have smiled at him with pride if he hadn't moved to greet his sister-in-law. "You are more beautiful each time I see you, Niamh," he said, bumping his newly (infrequently) shaved cheek against hers in a kiss. "That Merlin the kids look like you girls, or they'd have no hope," Edric grinned.

Theodore flushed, looking towards the stairs the house elf had disappeared up. "Is Linus upstairs?" he asked politely, inhaling the savory smells wafting in from the dinning hall with a smile.

Edric came in turn, the warm woman shifting and holding Edric's face in her cool hands. She studied him, for she knew this face. "You flatter, Edric." She cooed in gentleness, "You look wonderful. More distinguished and commanding each time I see you. You've blessed your son with that much. Come..." A leading hand gestured to the open room, welcoming the men.

"He is." Niamh turned her head while she led, giving Theodore his answer. "He arrived just a few minutes ago through the Portkey. I insist he not apparate yet, even though he picked up how to somewhere." A questioning glance was pointed at Theodore, but its air was light and delighted.

"Together again, at last." The voice was rugged and masculine, yet gentle in its delivery. It could mean only one thing- Simeon had concluded his business. He ventured down from the darkened stairwell in time to grasp Theodore's hand in a welcoming but very firm grip. Ice blue eyes peered at the Slytherin with a mixture of regard and study. "Theodore my boy. The girls must be nipping at your heels."

Theodore flushed lightly, looking away and giving a small shake of his head.
"Smart boy like Linus doesn't need help with that," he said with a laugh.

He smiled, shaking his uncle's hand with a faint smirk at his comment, laughing and running a hand through his hair. "Something like that," he said with a smile.

It wasn't until Theo laughed that Edric had noticed Simeon's arrival. He was frozen, captured by Niamh's easy grace as he had many moon's ago been captured by her sister's. Briefly, he regretted coming. When he was finally roused, he still had to pause to berate himself, and when he spoke his words sounded more bitter than he had intended. "If the both of you won't quit embarrassing the boy, it'll be longer still before we come back again," he said, touching Theo's neck again, though this time hoping to be reassuring. Watching him now, Edric was convinced that Theo must be dealing with some bullying problems to be so humbled by...everything. They'd have to have a talk about that later. For now, he would greet Simeon.
Edric had indeed found a brother in Simeon when the families had married. For them both to enter the room, one might find oneself overburdened with their combined presence. They both reeked of power and confidence, yet how they each displayed it was distinctly different. To shake either hand would be the most telling of their differences. Simeon's easy sociability was evident in his firm handshake, and Edric's self-assured carelessness in his brief and gentle one.
"You look well," Edric said with a small smile, and left it at that.

((OOC: Sorry if I assumed too much about Simeon. Give me a kick if deserved.))
