"Umm... huh..." Hannah blushed a little as the spotlight finally turned to her. She was able to gain control of her nerves, and she pushed her hair over her shoulders. She had made the mental choice not to wear pigtails, because they looked too childish. She felt this incessant need to look as professional as possible.

Her greens turned from the expectant gaze of Pomona Sprout to the couple dozen or so eyes of the professors and students gathered. "I... didn't really prepare any formal remarks. I was kind of hoping some of you would have questions and I could build a picture on that." She looked about in hope and foudn herself frowning. "Although I could say a few things of course... to umm... smart."

Hannah bit her lip and clucked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "Well by now you've all seen how the Headmaster's new law is slowing down our lives and stopping us from doing homework. So some of us started talking and we think we came up with a solution that should curb any kind of incidents in the hallways but still let people keep up with their studies and the day to day stuff."

Hannah looked around, hoping for questions.

Aurora stepped out from the back of the crowd, where she had been holding herself back, watching the other students. She smiled at Hannah, encouraging the girl who's nerves were clearly showing. She would have been much the same way if put in charge.

"How is it you plan on confronting Professor Snape?" she asked. She was a bit nervous herself, it was the first time she would have seen Severus since they had fought, and it was not ideal to bring criticism. But, when the cause was worthy...

At first, Hannah looked back at Neville and then searched out Ernie but could not find him. Undaunted, she turned fully to Sinistra. She smiled and nodded, "Oh umm, well most important I think considering our Headmaster's way of thinking is to make sure he doesn't feel threatened. My h-hope was- IS- to take Prefects as the legitimate student voice and a number of professors to the Headmaster's Office. That way he has his home turf so to speak... doesn't feel as threatened. And we would lay out the plan to him calmly. Asking, not demanding of course."

Her first question answered to her own satisfaction, Hannah felt her confidence rise a notch. "Anyone next?"

"I know," Sloane began, standing closer to the girls' right side amongst the students. "how easy it is, what with the past most of the student body has with the Headmaster to think he instated these rules to purposefully limit the students; however, I feel that isn't his reasoning behind the new rules. There are expectations and with recent events, safety is of the utmost importance."

Stepping a little closer, Sloane tucked her hands into the pockets of her robes and drew in a deep breath. "I imagine you will have a difficult time convincing the headmaster of anything unless you can guarantee a failsafe plan that is based on safety, and can guarantee that once any changes occur you can keep the whole of the student body from being reckless."

It was a tall order, but Sloane did admire what Hannah was doing.

"Well we understand what he is trying to do Professor Wickham," Hannah acknowledged. "And I'm sure he feels like he is doing this for the greater good. But the problem is that we are falling behind in classes and will continue to. Fifth years and Seventh years are going to be the most behind because they are studying for their individual exams." Hannah looked the woman in the eyes steadily, "So to keep things safe, we are going to ask that a few hours before and after curfew- or entirely after curfew if the Headmaster wishes- be designated 'magic open' times within the Common Rooms only and with at least one Prefect present. That way, students will have time to do some studying. We are going to also ask that there be designated 'study periods,' perhaps after dinner and again only in certain places that professors or prefects will be present to enforce the rules."

She nodded slowly and drew in a deep breath. "Have a sample schedule for this idea? Days, times and which professor you'd like to help regulate the study periods and areas?"
