Dear Father,
I have settled back into Hogwarts as well as can be expected. It is still a horrid castle, but after the first day of classes I have a good idea of how much work will be required to make up the semester, and it isn't as overwhelming as I thought it might be. The school is much improved with Headmaster Snape in charge - the other houses are much less annoyingly frivolous, for one thing, though the Slytherins seem to have been somewhat disorganised in my absence.
There was an incident I have some reason to believe that the ridiculous underground army of Dumbledore's we broke up in fifth year may have gotten back together again. I intend to talk to the Headmaster about it, to ensure that such stupidity is taken care of.
I will keep you abreast of everything that happens here, though I doubt any of it will be particularly significant. I hope all is well at home.
Your son,
Draco
Dear Mother,
I miss you already, but you shouldn't worry; there is plenty to entertain me here to forget about missing home. The draftiness of the castle and the quality of the food never fails to remind me, however.
It was nice to see my friends again, and especially Pansy - I thought she might be upset about my sudden departure, but she doesn't seem to have taken it too badly. I don't think returning to school will be quite as boring as I had originally thought it would be. Soon enough it will be over, and I'll be home again - I'm looking forward to graduating.
I hope you're well, and not missing me too much.
Your son,
Draco
