It is never a good thing when Aurors are Not Happy

Who: Kingsley Shacklebolt, Duncan Maclachlan
What: Discuss current events and new leads (and throw balls of paper at each other)
When: October 26, early morning
Where: Auror Office
Status: Complete

It was early morning and Kingsley hadn't gotten much sleep the night before.  First there was the meeting with other Order members to discuss the Minister's death and then he'd headed over to the Ministry to see what he could dig up.  It was depressingly little.  Magical Law Enforcement had handled the investigation without alerting the Auror department at all.  They had had to find out the same way the rest of the Wizarding world had, over the Wireless.  Many of the Aurors Kingsley had talked to were at least annoyed if not out right angry at the way the investigation had been handled.  Auror Sawyer had even marched over there and demanded to know why the Aurors weren't called in.  He'd been answered with a condescending, "Well, even though it was the Minister of Magic, it was a simple case of accidental death.  There was no need to bother the Aurors about it.  After all it's not in your jurisdiction and we wouldn't want to distract you from your very important work of hunting Dark Wizards."  And by now the crime scene would be contaminated from all the MLE agents.

Activity in the office was starting to pick up as the Aurors on night shift packed up to go home and the first of the day shift arrived to replace them.  Kingsley noticed Duncan moving through the office.  He had been trying to catch up with the older Auror since his conversation with Lucius on Monday but both of their schedules had made it impossible.  They needed to discuss plans for capturing Fenrir, and after this latest crisis, well, they had a lot to talk about.

Kingsley grabbed a piece of scrap parchment and balled it up.  A flick of his wand sent it flying at the back of Duncan's head.
