They Apparated a short distance from the Blayde Inn. The surrounding area could've been pleasantly quaint, autumn foliage hanging on the trees in bursts of oranges and reds, and the woodsy smell of smoke on the air. The quaint country image was spoiled, however, by the ramshackle hovels lining both sides of the chipped cobblestone road and the people hanging about, clearly with nothing particular to do, and many of them already deep into their cups.
Charming.
Duncan reached for the cigarette packet tucked away in his inner robe pocket, then glanced at Agatha. Later then.
"You lost," he muttered to her. "Your little bet, I mean."
