Ugh. I am So.Glad. to be back from France. Not that it wasn't nice to be away for awhile, but it was hardly any vacation, the way Father kept dragging us around to manor after manor. Three solid weeks of him disappearing with the men of the house behind the closed doors of libraries and studies while Mother and the ladies rustled softly into parlors and visited. After the second manor we visited, where I was placed in front of an eleven and twelve year old and told to play nicely (me! a seventeen year old!), I was mainly left to my own devices. It may have had something to do with the way they had learned a number of hexes to practice on the house elves by teatime

But! It was lovely to practice my French, and Mother says I musn't get my hopes up, but if Hogwarts doesn't reopen, I may be able to finish my schooling at Beauxbatons. Father is strangely silent on the matter, but I can't imagine that he wouldn't jump at the chance to have me in France. Hogwarts will be even worse with that Muggle lover Dumbledore gone, if they put McGonagall in charge. Merlin, she and Filch's cat will probably prowl the halls together to catch students to discipline. I am trying so hard not to get excited, but imagine the finish that would put on my education! At Beauxbatons, witches are educated to be cultured and refined, on top of everything else. Except that huge Headmistress they have is kind of scary And imagine the uniforms!

Oh! I almost forgot the most horrifying interesting strange part of the entire trip. One of the families we visited are our very distant relations. They also happen to be very close friends with the Delacour family--remember that veela Delacour girl from the Triwizard Tournament? The one all the boys were falling all over themselves about And they told us that girl is marrying into the WEASLEY family! The WEASLEYS!!! How could a girl as beautiful as talented as refined who went to Beauxbatons marry one of that freckled, ginger-haired, poverty-ridden brood? I mean, what will their children look like? Although she's not even entirely human so I guess it makes sense Anyway, our relatives are coming into England for the wedding, and they insisted we come along as their guests! And Father ACCEPTED! My mouth actually dropped open, until I remembered where I was and who I was with. Later that night, he seemed exceptionally pleased with himself and when I asked him how he could want to go to the wedding of someone who's so obviously a blood traitor, and whose interests are clearly not aligned with ours he just laughed and told me it was a perfect opportunity. When I asked him what he meant he got angry and told me to go find my mother to take me to buy something to wear befitting the Parkinson station. I guess what he meant was it's a perfect opportunity to show the Ministry that we're not aligned yet in this war, and that we're still able to be trusted.

At the same time, I wish we weren't going (although I did get gorgeous new robes in France that will certainly be more fashionable than anything anyone else is wearing). I feel certain Draco couldn't possibly be none of my friends would have received invitations would be caught dead at that wedding, and the place will be crawling with Mudbloods blood traitors Ministry officials Gryffindors. I hope there'll be enough people so Potty, the Weasel, and the Mudblood don't corner me I can hide in the crowd don't actually have to talk to any of them. I feel certain there will be enough decent people from France to associate with.
