The best way to honor the fallen is to remember the good they brought to the world and learn from the mistakes they made while here.
This reminds me of a kid I knew who died. I grew up with him and he fell ill one year in class, it happened a few more times and then he disappeared. A year later he turns up in another class of mine.
He was terminally ill, and the Make a Wish foundation granted his last wish to keep going to school. Every day, provided he wasnt getting sick, he was there. Smile on his face and ready to learn; even though he knew any day could be his last.
Eventually he disappeared. Dead at 15.
If there was anyone in the world who deserved a long happy life it was him. Friendly, helpful, always had something nice to say about someone. Makes me think about how I've spent my life so far, and how I've squandered alot of my time. And if I could trade places I would, as he'd prolly make better use of the time than I am.
I'm sorry that all of this happened. I don't know what to say to all of that... I hope everything works out for the better for you! You're such a nice person, you don't deserve that.
