For lunch this afternoon, I decided to finally delve into the box of Trader Joe's frozen
veggie burgers. It's been my experience that most of this ilk can be cooked in the microwave. A quick glance at the heating directions did not mention the option to nuke.
Nor was there any mention on the box. I made the assumption that either it was "nuke free yummy" or the patties had been boxed in 1972.
As in the past, I put them on a paper towel in the microwave for and sent the timer for 2 minutes. At the 1:30 mark, I did a check. The vb was hot, melting and almost fused to the towel. Fortunately, the unsightly foodstuff could be scraped onto the
waiting wheat bread and it is was warm and tasty.
But the color and consistency of the veggie burgers will be the source of nightmares for decades to come.
