Since I've been ridiculously busy with the move, I've been trying to keep an early schedule at work lately to give myself more daylight, in at 8 and out at 5 (though more than often it ends up being in at 8, out at 7 like always, which defeats the point..) This went fine for a few weeks, but my body's finally starting to resist it and I'm not getting as much sleep as I should, or something - at any rate I've been waking up before I'm ready and actually remembering a few of my dreams.
Last night's began as a reunion of friends, called together to reveal a comic project for which supposedly only the first page had been finished, even though there were clearly ten or fifteen pages for us to read. The story was very clear in my dream but I remember very little of it now. I did read enough to glean a quirky setting that took over the rest of the dream. (At the time, I was thinking 'This story is awesome, I hope I remember the dream- I should totally use this setting' - but after I woke up, all I remembered is that it was somehow both Victorian and a Clerks-esque convenience store, complete with Lotto machines and fast food and rows of refrigerated groceries. It must have seemed way less stupid while I was asleep.)
Damn, I've forgotten all the funny bits. I should record these before I go to work, rather than after I get here.
Stuff happened. Eventually it evolved into a Sherlock Holmes techno-mystery, presented in the same comic panel style, in which I tried to track down more info on the email hacker that did some major fucking with my life last year, but I was beset with obstacles at every turn. I don't remember how it went, but it devolved into chaos, and I woke up convinced that a few emails I sent last week had gone to defunct addresses. I even stumbled over to my desk, half-asleep, to doublecheck, then after I got out of the shower, I was like, "...wait."
