Catching up
Sooo... I've been on the phones at work lately.
There are days when I enjoy it and days when it seems every person who calls is absolutely brain dead. I had one woman argue with me for almost ten minutes about how we seat groups of seven on the train. And after she decided to buy eight tickets so her group could sit across the aisle from each other, she asked, "So, what happens? You just get on the train and then you're bored?" Uh, no, you dumb broad. It's the fucking steam train! You're going through the National Park! There's all kinds of shit to see! I feel bad for the other people seated in the car with her group. Ten bucks says they'll jabber loudly over the narration, so they don't even know what they're seeing out the friggin' window. Why the hell are you paying $25/ticket if you think you're going to be bored?!
Today was just full of weirdoes like that. I had a guy who apparently expected me to care that he had Amex and Discover cards but not Visa or Mastercard. Sorry, dude. We're a non-profit. We can't afford what Discover and Amex charge us to charge you. Actually I get a lot of people who tell me they don't have a Visa or MC (or don't want to use them) and expect me to take a different card. When I say, "Visa or Master Card" I mean VISA OR MASTERCARD!!!
I also had a guy today who took ten minutes to say what he should have been able to say in three. And I'm not talking about someone who couldn't get to the point. He talked like a crappy William Shatner impersonator - only there were longer pauses. It was as bad as the dialog in The Touch of Satan!!
In other news, Chad and I are going up to Toronto with Weezle this weekend. :D It'll be my first trip up there in four years!! I'm so excited. We're planning on seeing some of the stuff that we've always skipped on past trips. I want to go to the "shoeseum", but Weezle thinks it will be boring.
