AAaaaggghhhhh!
Still sick today, but not as miserable as yesterday so I didn't think I needed to call in any reinforcements. I would live to regret this lightly-made decision, as you will soon see. Instead I took the boy out to lunch and Target for a few necessary items (like Theraflu). The express purpose of this exercise was to give him enough stimulation to take a good solid two hour nap when we got home, enabling me to get some much-needed rest and recuperation. This methodology is nearly always successful. NOT TO-DAY.
I gave up after an hour and a half trapped in the darkened dungeon, er, nursery enduring the torture of a repetitive lullaby CD. In the process of preparing my draught of Theraflu I discovered evidence of the following items utterly destroyed and/or consumed by the Dog: three water bottles, one with water still in it; a tube of Burt's Bees lip balm; a bottle of hand sanitizer; a package of silicone ear plugs (fortunately marked NON-TOXIC, because I was NOT in the mood to go through any life-saving measures); and a whole butternut squash, which I only noticed missing after finding a seed among the shards of the lip balm tube. While I mopped up, Boy learned to operate the hallway pocket door and pinched himself a couple good times.
Theraflu is not good cold.
