Quickie

I didn't get much sewing done last week, due to Thaniel being extra-clingy and taking only one 30 minute catnap per day (vs. his usual two or three). Turns out he was busy popping out two new teeth.

Anyway, I really wanted to sew a wrap to wear out today, on a long-delayed date with hubby. I had given up on it, but when my boys slept in this fine holiday morning, decided to try. In half an hour I had the fabric cut, the machine and serger threaded, and tension tested. Then came a ninety-minute break when they woke up. Once Thaniel was ensconced among his toys, I serged the two seams and presto! A twisted wrap.

The top is a nursing tank from Bravado (LOVE their stuff!), in a seasonal aquamarine color. The fabric, a chocolate-and-aqua stretch lace I've had in my stash since Hancock's closed several years ago. I could not have matched them better if I had planned it! The pattern, Emma Seabrooke's "Twisted Wrap", which is not really a pattern but directions and diagrams for cutting and sewing a rectangle into the twist. Easy peasy! It covered my shoulders in the air conditioned theater, doubled as a nursing cover later on, and looked good to boot!
