Change of Theme
Every now and then I like to switch up my LJ theme for variety. The last time I chose the "Tiki Orange" theme in honor of saeriellyn's birthday. I never mentioned it because her retro-Hawaiian themed birthday party was a surprise. I also couldn't tell her about the great costume I was working on for it! That was back in December. Here's a pic of us at her party:

This month I wanted to use a rocket theme in anticipation of the birth of our son (due in a couple of weeks), whose room we've decorated with a retro rocketship theme. Unfortunately all the rocket or space themes are upgrades. So I picked the next best thing, a theme with some of his room colors (purple with blue, lime green and orange), and added a countdown ticker in the sidebar. Then promptly freaked the next day when the ticker dropped the countdown into the teens!
We had our last meeting with our doula tonight. She was very encouraging and said that we are thorough and well-prepared (as much as you can for the unknown!). Then on the news they showed two families that had babies at home over the holiday weekend, coached by a 911 operator. One was almost born in a *gasp* bathtub, which made me laugh because of course some people plan for water births, but the newscaster seemed so shocked!
