ARGH!
This afternoon I went to the eye doctor's, where they dilated my eyes and put in some numbing drops and "bio-glo" for good measure. I knew everything would be really bright afterwards, but I forgot that everything would also be really BLURRY, and that it usually takes me several hours to recover normal vision.
I stopped at the Asian grocery on the way home (not my usual one), but couldn't read the packages or find what I needed in the unfamiliar aisles. Green leafy produce all looked the same and I couldn't make out the labels. I wound up leaving with nothing. Dang, and I was really craving, too. Managed to drop off a package for FedEx, but only because it had a pre-paid label so I didn't have to fill out any forms. Since my cooking plans were nixed, I thought I'd order in from our stash of delivery menus... but I can't read the menus! *wail!* And the four hours of sewing I thought I could get in before 24 comes on? Never mind, I can't see close enough for the detail work.
*sigh* A whole afternoon gone. Next time I need to make the appointment later, or ask them NOT to dilate my eyes. I'm only typing by touch now, plus I have the text zoom in my web browser turned all the way up (I can't find the zoom in my mail client)!
