still here...
as you all know, i did not drop off the face of the planet. in fact, my presence all over the planet (or at least all over gettysburg) has been what's keeping me from updating. for those of you who don't know, i got a job as a receptionist at a civil engineering firm on baltimore street called HRG (right across the street from the pretzel place). i work here (i'm at work right now) 2-5 every day. of course, in order to do this, i had to drop all weekday work shifts at the commons and ragged edge. now i work here 2-5 m-f, ragged edge 2-5 saturdays, and the commons every other sunday 1130-6.
although i just officially quit from ragged edge. once again for those of you who don't know, the edge will soon be going out of business. rumor has it by may 1st. and the boss has been the biggest dick on the planet about it. he didn't tell anyone about his plans, so everyone started discussing it amongst themselves. finally everyone found out via newspaper that he was planning on selling it. no one knew for certain, not even his employees and even his manager. apparently he thought it was funny listening to all the rumors and seeing how people reacted to it. asshole. then he decided to cut everyone's hours in half without warning them...just up and did it when he put up the week's schedule. which obviously pissed people off. i was planning on quitting anyway, but this is just a great excuse to do it.
i'm desperately searching for jobs and internships in the greater philly area. if i don't talk with at least one person over easter weekend, i'll prolly just plan on going home for the summer. which i REALLY don't wanna do. so hope/wish/pray that i find something!!!
other than jobs, i've been really busy with schoolwork. especially since gettysburg is full of cheap pennypinching bastards who try with all their might to hold on to every last cent, completely screwing over their students. in other words...something's broken and they still haven't fixed it.
two and a half weeks later
i'm pissed as all hell. i haven't had wireless in my room for 2 and a half weeks. which tends to put me behind in my schoolwork cuz i don't have the time to run to the library every hour and check angel or my email and see what's going on. i called IT twice and they never got back to me, so i had to physically go to them and complain...only then did they tell me that i had been bitching at the wrong department. so i filed an online complaint like they told me to, and it still hasn't been fixed.
but it's almost easter break and I NEED IT!!!
