Sick Kitty?

My cat Spice may be ill. Last night he stopped using the litterbox t'pee in and started going in the back of the closet, n ot far from the litterbox. Which.. is really, really odd because Spice has never ever done that (even when pissed off at me, he's usually just gone and pooped in the hall or summat XP). Except once. Years ago. When he had that ( Read more... )

*hug* Thanks. n_n

Yes, my regular vet will be there on Tuesday when I take Spice in for his bloodwork before his dental stuff.. so I plan on talking to him then. And the results from the culture should be back by then too. Spice seems to be doing OK.. like I said, I took him in pretty much for rpecautionary measures, and t'try and rule out any medical reasons for him suddenly peeing outside the litter box. He is happy to be home (I don't blame him) and as soon as I got him home, the first thing he did was go over to his food bowl and start eating. XD

I guess what annoyed me most about the fill-in vt was that he just didn't seem to have any people skills. Like.. I totally understand him mentioning about Spice's teeth to me. They are bad, and I feel bad about that because I hadn't even realized it. It's only in the last several years that pets teeth seems to have become a huge thing, so growin gup we never paid much attention to their teeth unless their was an obvious problem. And Spice has been eating like his usual self (17.1 lbs he weighs.. he has no problem eating XD) so I just never thought to check his teeth. So I have no problem with the fill-in vet having brought it up. But.. the WAY he did it was what annoyed me. For starters, he made his teeth the issue instead of what I was there and worried about - urinary tract problems. And second, it is just NOT professional to tell someone who is in there, worried about their beloved pet "and if I were to touch that tooth right now, he'd start yowling in pain and you could see his jaw tremble with the pain". I'm sorry.. but that was.. that crossed a line he should not have crossed. That was just MEAN to say. A vet - or ANYONE in ANY sort of medical field, animal or human - should not.. taunt?.. someone about the pain their animal is in like that. But then when I went back to pick Spice up, I could see the vet techs behind him rolling their eyes as he was speaking to me and telling me about how the urine taking and everything went and our options from this point.. so I know I'm not the only one who thinks he was a crock.

But anyway! XD Thanks. <33 Spice is muh baby and I do worry muchly about him, 'specially now that he's older. *hugs*

Some vets act like that.. I dono why. O.o SO Ihope your normal vet can fill you in on what's going on. And if there at the same office I would tell your normal vet what a ass hat this other guy was being so someone knows what is going on at least.

I know how it is to worry about older pets.. All of my birds are old save for 2 so I tend to freak out about them. Since we have the AC on I make sure all there cages are covered and all from the vent/drafts so they don't get to cold. n.n
