Thanks :) This is one of my favorite formats to use for sex (I try to only use it once per fandom) because it allows for a build, back off, build, back off. It's also the best way to do backstory, I think. But it doesn't work for everyone, so I'm glad it worked for you :) (The non-quotes are new for me, as is a mid-section POV swap. The swap had to happen because of the blindfold. The quotes just... were.)

Did it ever? Gaaaah! I've never read BDSM that had was smart, classy and fuck hot at the same time. Somnus is the only other story that I can think of right now that can even be classified in this league.

I appreciate so much that it's risqué but it was never crass. And that it brought the real motivation with BDSM to the forefront - power. And how much trust is involved for two people to be entirely comfortable to enjoy it.

I love how Bella knows she's Jakes and she meets Jacob's needs in a way she could only give. "I'm yours, so take me" has got to be the sexiest but also the most loving words I could ever read coming from her, for Jacob.

But who am I kidding - I loved the whole dynamic. Yes even the part where Jared ogles and Kim falls asleep in the middle of trying. LOL!

Well, if you do it right ;) But, yeah. I think too many BDSM fics write the fantasy, rather than the interaction; nothing wrong with that, really, but there's not much examination of the relationship itself. Does that make sense? It made sense in my head... gah. Tell me you know what I mean, even if you have to lie.

Heh. Sometimes it's tricky; sometimes it's not. I always read a LOT of smut before I get started so that I'm in the right mindset, writing-wise. (And to make sure I don't wind up accidentally describing things the same way as someone else.)

Thanks! I kinda felt the build was critical on this one. Especially given that I wanted to establish how far in the future it was. (Teens can engage in the *actions* of BDSM, but I really think the *mental* part of it is something that comes with the maturity of adulthood. And, after all, it's the mental stuff that really makes it.)

I thought long and hard about safe words, but it wound up not working. A safe word is, of course, a substitute for "Stop", so that saying "Stop" can be part of the fun. That just didn't work for the direction I wanted to go, you know?

And her loving "both men", even though he tries to ignore that one exists is excellent - from a canon where Bella seems so oblivious, building her as a character that not only knows herself, but knows someone else better than they know themselves is refreshing. And it seems completely plausible, because I feel like she could actually become a functioning adult with normal relationships with Jacob. Going out on double-dates. Having secret-code lingerie.

It was sexy and so chock full of character development that I weep for anyone who just sees it as smut.

Thank you so much :) The thing about Bella is that, in spite of everything, she's not really outside the bell curve with regards to other eighteen year olds when it comes to selfishness and self-centeredness. The stakes are higher in her situation, so it's much more frustrating, but frankly -- most girls her age are, in fact, short-sighted brats. But they grow out of it. Bella is 25 in this fic, and six years of growth can, I think, lead to her becoming a very good woman -- especially if she spends those six years with the right person. Glad you find her functional ;)
