"I love you," said a sad voice.

GOD DAMNIT ZUKO. *lips quivers*

Uggg. I loved this but Zuko sadness killed me. It's a good thing I have bacon to drown my sorrows in.

Zuko spends a lot of time being sad. It is the nature of Zuko. Particularly in this universe.

Drowning in bacon sounds pretty disgusting, not gonna lie.

I am a great fan of bacon. But the particular imagery of drowning in it... ew.

It started with laughter (Even she wasn't allowed to touch Sokka's space sword -- though he encouraged her to touch everything else.) but it ended on such a sweet note of longing ("I love you," said a sad voice.) that I don't know whether to smile or sniffle.

Zuuuuuuuko stop being so sad! *GLOMP*

Wonderful one shot! I absolutely love it! ♥♥

Smile and sniffle at the same time ;) (Or, if you find yourself getting too sniffly, imagine Sokka clinging to his space sword and crooning sweet nothings in its nonexistent.) Glad you liked, either way ;)

This is beautiful!

Katara's voice took on a stubborn edge, the one she got whenever someone in her family had been insulted.

I loved this - nice way to give us a glimpse of Katara's feelings regarding Zuko (whose sadness sure suits him).

Thanks! :) And yeah, Katara's (obviously) got a hard streak of defensiveness for whoever falls into her circle of protection. Somewhere along the way, Zuko wound up in there. (But without the maternal feelings that usually accompany Katara's behavior in this situation, and thank God for that.)

"I love you," said a sad voice.

That killed me. I wanted so desperately to hug something, anything, as a surrogate for not being able to hug Zuko >< It wasn't even that line, that line on its own is completely powerless - it's everything that led up to it, that conversation, followed by that line. Nnnnnnnngh, how did you do that?? How? How do you make me feel such feelings??

excuse while I go find my cat to hug as a Zuko-surrogate

Cats make good candidates for snorgles. And Zuko does, indeed, need snorgles. It's not a pretty mess he's gotten himself into :-/

How? How do you make me feel such feelings??
I type with Freddy Kreuger claws.

Glad you liked :)
