So, I've been gone from school for a week now. Although I'm tired and want to get some sleep, I feel like it's a good time for a little bit of catch up, livejournal style. This probably won't be the best LJ entry ever, but maybe it'll get the ball rolling and I'll end up doing it all summer? Let's hope.
After I left campus, I went to Missouri, and then South Dakota. The road trip from MO to SD was a blast...we (my best friend and I) stopped at a bunch of random places along the way, from a motel called Audrey's Motel somewhere in the northern part of Missouri, to a claw machine in Council Bluffs, Iowa where I won this hideous stuffed bear. We had a good time in SD, too. Then, I went home.
There's this amazing thing about home... no matter how much you're convinced that you're done living there, and how far past it you think you've moved, it still FITS, you know? It's just this place that somehow never changes but always keeps up with you, no matter how much you've changed. I think that's a good thing, overall. I love having a place that always fits me. But at the same time, I worry that it's going to keep me from moving forward. That it'll be one step forward during the year, but that I'll backpedal to where I was last time I was home. And I don't want that. I grew so much this year, in so many ways. And I don't want to lose that. I don't think I have to.
I'm tired. There will be more to come in the future, but for now (1:15 am), I want to sleep. I got a job in a lab on the KU campus, and I'll probably start working there sometime next week. Until then, I plan to relax, enjoy life, and watch a lot of mediocre television. Eric and I have made personal goals of sleeping at least 9 hours per 24 hour period... I hope to keep that goal up for a few more days. That means a nap tomorrow. Nice. =)
