Boondocks

So, I'm out in the country right now. There are goats and chickens and barncats. There's a giant German Shepherd puppy named Vollie and her doggie friend Ellie. There are two housecats, too. It is awesome. I'm putzing around my boyfriend Josh's house while he's at work. I've been working on applications for graduate assistantships, but the air is so dry that the sticky on the envelope is practically dry before I can shut it. Days with 6 inches of snow on the ground are good days to sit inside and watch it sparkle in the sun. I love being out in the country. There's a good reason why I've never taken my Aunt up on the offer to go live with her in NYC. I need quiet and open spaces. I need to be able to choose my distance from things and not have them pressed in my face all the time. I'm trying to figure out how my life should shape up. Do I crave a quiet life because I've never had one or because it's what I legitimately want/need? It's hard to know. I can tell you all, though, that being about 50 feet from a barn with goats in it makes me very happy. I could go pet Dolly in 15 seconds flat. She is a cute goat with a cute goat beard. You've gotta love a lady goat beard. :) I hope you all are content and safe.
