Please HELP a Friend to Us All
There's a Milwaukee music promoter a lot of us know and love named Gary Czaplewski. He has booked big shows and small. He's 'lost his $hirt' plenty of times on these big shows all so we could have some entertainment.
He's booked groups such as VNV Nation, Icon of Coil, The Birthday Massacre, Combichrist, Rasputina, The Cruxshadows, Ayria, Reverend Horton Heat, Sister Machine Gun, Chemlab, Run Level Zero, The Azoic, :SITD:, Dismantled, And One, Bella Morte, Imperative Reaction, etc. Some of them came from Europe or Canada to play.
He brings big name DJs and helps with smaller local shows. He also spins from here to Chicago under the name DJ :garz:.
He is as important to Milwaukee's electronic/industrial/gothic music scene as Matt Fanale is to Madison's scene. He's a really great guy that makes sure everyone is having a good time if you come to one of his events.
He's been here for Milwaukee. Now it's time for us to be here for him.
As some of you know, he and his family recently lost their house in a fire.

still in shock, I just kinda stood there for a minute and then started to try and find clothes that were washable, phone chargers, etc. Suits, shirts ties, total loss. As well as the furniture (I loved my Crate & Barrel couch!!!)... pictures, schoolbooks just purchased.... anything electronic melted (you can kinda see a laptop melted on the tv on the right) the list goes on. another lesson in learning not to get attached to material things... my bro-in-law helped. after we were done he left me so I could have a moment and I just instantly started sobbing for a few minutes... this was the house my family built in 1907... my grandmother had a still in the basement and made bathtub gin during prohibition. lost the only picture of her."
