Favor!!!
At 5:00 a.m. this morning I took a minute out of my routine and said a prayer. "Favor." I asked for, "Please God, show me that I'm Yours". Out the door I trot.
This week is a little different than the norm, I flew down with my boss. Not that I mind, she and I get along great so I figured it would be an entertaining week much less plane ride.
"The partners have been talking about you." She says out of nowhere.
Now THAT has my attention. "Really?!?"
"You're kicking butt. Everybody knows that." Nights... weekends... I've really been busting it out lately.
"OK..." I prompt.
"You're getting a raise."
OMG!!!! And she wasn't kidding!! They don't kid around. I've been expecting my New Orleans salary to kick in any time (a percentage increase over normal for every day I'm in NO) but this is a Tulsa (base) raise effective immediately. My NO pay kicks in at the end of the month and is figured off the new.
In light of everything that has happened in the last few weeks it was more than I could take and my eyes flooded.
"You did it..." I whispered quietly as she beamed, misunderstanding the actual recipient of my praise.
Later...
"I asked the partners what their long-term plan for New Orleans was. They had one word...
Audrey."
That means at 24 I'll be a lead.
I don't know why but something has gone my way every day so far. I'm trusting... keep me where I need to be.
