Remy was still getting used to only having so much time to work and play, to live. He was glad to have Ryan, because despite everything, Ryan had come through for him. At least once during his first week on his own, independent of Eden's tutoring, Remy had let himself get distracted by work, and had very nearly fallen unconscious in the front room ( Read more... )

Julien could be devious when he wanted to. He kissed Eden awake, groaning afterwards like he'd just remembered that he had something to do. Luka, it seemed, was stuck on a particularly challenging piece, and he wanted Julien's input. He promised it wouldn't take long, and then he rolled reluctantly out of bed, advising Eden to feed himself, because Julien was going to grab something while he was out. He dressed quickly, choosing a pair of black wool slacks and a matching black dress shirt, then adding his favorite red scarf (the one he and Eden both wore to the wedding) as an accent.

After another few lingering kisses (and Kisses), Julien managed to pull himself away from Eden and drove off. His intentions were not to instruct his son. Luka was already out hunting or working, but he had graciously allowed to be the alibi through which Julien would work unseen on another sort of project.

He arrived at Remy's home in ten minutes, slipping from behind the wheel of his blue Jaguar and locking it after him, then striding up the walk to the front door. A quick listen with Auspex brought him music, and Ryan's voice - a sign that he wouldn't be disturbing the lovers at home. He knocked softly, waiting.

Ryan smiled when he opened the door and Julien returned the gesture. He'd always been fond of Ryan, more so than of his companion. But Remy was a Cainite now, and Julien had bridges to build with his newest packmate.

"Good evening, Ryan - you're looking well." Julien took the hand that Ryan extended to him, squeezing and then pulling him into a gentle hug. He kissed his cheek, pulling back with a small, satisfied smile. Ryan was, of course, entirely enchanted - quite naturally, even. "I was wondering if Remy was home this evening? I have some business I'd like to discuss with him, as long as I'm not intruding."

Ryan led them through the house and Julien smiled wistfully, memories of the times spent - good and bad - within these walls. The house was well-maintained, though it smelled different now. The scent of Eden was beginning to fade, and for some reason it made Julien a little bit more nostalgic.

Julien followed where Ryan led, into the living room where he had come upon Eden reading or writing many a time. He fixed his eyes upon Remy, nodding with a smile. "Good evening, Remy. I hope I'm not interrupting... but perhaps you could spare a few moments of your time this evening?"
