Previously: After a casualty among the marines and the loss of a valuable jumper, the SGC and IOA, with Elizabeth's endorsement, shut down the campaign to wipe out skour on Heka. Forty plus girl children were removed and relocated to Xa and the team reunited behind Teyla's plan to inform the Xa and encourage them to take over actions against Heka.

And Rodney is only putting up with it because he's a girl. This behavior would only draw derision from a guy...

I don't think Sheppard is being malicious or that Rodney is crying himself to sleep. Much of Sheppard's behavior in this reads girl to me, which has been interesting to watch develop over the course of this fic, and it mostly happens in his dealings with Rodney. I'm not sure what pushed my button the other night about this drawing derision were it guy on guy. I've gone back and re-read and it doesn't bother me as much, because I could see something like this happening between two guys inexperienced at m/m sex.

Hmm. I don't know. This Sheppard reminds me of why dating women is hard. Which is not a fair statement. Dating the bi-curious is harder. And a bit like this.
