Fellow Travellers by Martha Wilson
"Shockingly, Liam, not everything is about you." Rodney shook his head tiredly, and added, "If there were any Wraith left on the surface, we'll be helpless."
John scrubbed a hand through his hair. He really didn't like this, but there wasn't exactly a wide range of options. "Or the rest of the village could decide we're responsible for bringing the Wraith and kill us."
"There's always that," Rodney agreed grimly.
Liam stared at them. "You people just lead lives of quiet desperation, don't you? I've been a fugitive for six hundred years and I'm not that cynical."
"Then you're doing it wrong," Rodney told him.

Niceties by nixa jane
"That sounds like a wonderful opportunity," McKay said, before turning to look at John. "What do you think, Major Sheppard?"
John smiled. "If you want to go, we can go."
"I don't want to go if you don't want to go," Rodney said quickly.
"Well I would only go if you want to go," John said. He shifted a little. "If you want to go we'll go."
"You don't really want to go," McKay said. "So I don't want to go." He turned to Weir. "Give the mission to Bates, would you, Elizabeth?"
"I-" she started to protest, not quite sure what to say, but trailed off again, caught the by the spectacle of John Sheppard standing and then holding out a hand to pull Rodney up. They left the room together, still smiling, and she wondered if maybe she should send them both for physicals.
3)
And All We Have by seekergeek
A pudgy red-haired scientist huffed up to them at a slow jog. "Colonel, sir? Dr. McKay wants you back at the ship, right away."
"Was there excited arm waving involved or terrified screaming?" John asked, shoving himself away from the box he'd been leaning on.
The man blinked a bit and went, "Uh, excited arm waving I think."
John made a pleased face in Lorne's direction. "Well, probably good news then." He turned back to the guy. "Go back ahead and tell him I'll be right there."
4)
Solving a Mystery by velocitygrass
Until Rodney said, "I have about an hour until Jennifer goes off duty."
John was so taken aback that he wasn't able to hide his reaction.
"What?" Rodney asked.
"Nothing," John said, trying to remain neutral, except he couldn't help going on. "Are you sure you have an hour? You could go do something nice for her. A picnic maybe?"
"Nah, not after this mission. She'll understand. In fact I'm counting on her to make it all better," Rodney said with a grin. "Just want to kill the time until then."
"Right," John said flatly.
"So what do you want to play? Or we could watch the latest BSG. I think-"
"Get out," John said calmly. When Rodney looked at him as if he'd grown a second head, he added, "Please."
"What? Why? What the hell is up with you anyway?"
"I can't do this, okay." He wasn't able to look at Rodney, but he had to say something. Even he had a breaking point and Rodney had jumped right over it.
"Can't do what?" Rodney asked.
"Can't be your... human sudoku. I'm sure you'll find something else to do until your girlfriend has time for you."
5)
Some Strange Prophecy by Speranza
"Hey, you should have called me earlier," Ray Vecchio said. "I could have booked you into a better hotel."
"It's okay here." Ray stared at the silver-black reflection of a mirror across the room; he was glad it was too dark for him to see himself. "It's got character."
"What happened to you guys last night? You fell off the map." There was a rustling of paper and then Vecchio said, "I found you this morning at a gas station. Did you sleep in the car or what?"
Sitting in the dark like this, he felt like a kid in the confessional-and wasn't that why he'd called, after all? "No. We slept with a beauty queen," and Christ, had that only been last night? It felt like a million years ago.
" We ?" Vecchio repeated, like he wasn't sure what he'd heard. "You and Fraser?"
"Yeah. Yeah," and suddenly he was all choked up. He lay back on the bed, still clutching the phone to his ear, and draped his free arm over his eyes.
"Geez," Vecchio breathed into his ear, and there was something oddly comforting about Vecchio's voice. He wasn't sure what Vecchio was hearing in his voice, but somehow Vecchio understood where his head was-or else Vecchio was just good at talking people down from high places. "Okay, look-just calm down, all right?"
"Okay," Ray managed to choke out. "I'm fine."
"You're not fine, man. You're a fuckin' mess." Vecchio seemed to go off and talk to himself for a moment, muttering: "Which I should've seen coming, because Fraser's contagious like this, he's fucking contagious-" and then, like he'd forgotten: "Where is Fraser?"
"He's asleep. In his room," Ray explained wearily. "He's drunk."

**This was way harder than I thought it would be. I kept remembering things I'd liked about so many episodes. ***Vegas would have made the cut except I think so much of its appeal lies in its relation to the rest of the series and the characters and doesn't stand alone.
