I'm not sure where to begin; this story was amazing. I'm not normally a McShep person but although their relationship was the tie that binds, so to speak, it was the overall richness of the story and all its characters that was so wonderful.
Yes, Rodney helped bring about a massive economic collapse because he didn't want to go through airport security. It was such a Rodney thing to do and selfish and yet it only added to his character. John's inability to emotionally connect; Carter's military background and total trust in Jack, right or wrong; Daniel's decisions and SG1's inability to see that Teal'c might not make every move based on a faith in the Tauri. Cam's good ol boy hero persona that was and wasn't an act. Jeannie and her family. Ronan and Teyla building an 'empire' and doing it all out in the open if anyone, anyone at all had bothered to look. Lorne and the terrible price he paid for doing the right thing (thank you so much for having Teyla calling him one of their own. It's true and it deserved to be acknowledged.)
Watching Earth basically play out the Asuran and Ori battles on a miniature scale, right down to the arrogance on one side vs. the fanaticism on the other. Poor sad Carson and Jennifer and the wonderful Vala, who since reading this fic I now see in a very different light.
And John, who lost his way but never completely. All of AR1 never lost their way like SG1 seemed to and yet you didn't make SG1 'bad' people; they were very complex and even when they did they wrong things I could see why they did them but SG1 became a mythic creation and AR1 stayed real; real people who loved each other even when they wanted to wring each other's necks.
I do believe Jack had to know it was his clone causing trouble and I wonder how he justified not taking him out? Or why?
Well, it was simply an amazing story. I wish I knew what happened to Todd (wonderful way to stop the Wraith) but aside from that you painted a very frightening butrealistic scenario of a possible future in the SG universe. Thank you.
