Now that I've got a bunch of free time on my hands again, I've come to the realization that I have no idea how I spent so much time online while I was in college. I sit down at my computer now to entertain myself and I can't find things to amuse myself. What did I do online for all that time? Were there websites that I visited that I've forgotten about? Or did the fact that I spent so much time having conversations with upwards of 4 people at a time that my visits to Facebook and such which take only 10-15 minutes now just took that much longer then? I know I used to blog a lot more then, and it's not that I don't have stories anymore...or maybe I don't...
Well, I do have some stories. Work stories. Wedding stories.
First off, apparently the "Arkansas Diamond" ring that I bought 2 weekends ago will apparently become part of my work attire when doing the Wedding Assistant thing. I was told by one of the other wedding assistants that because of my age, I may be fighting some prejudice against my level of competence. She also said, "Oh, and they look. They ALWAYS look." This was in reference to the ring finger of the left hand. For an additional story about that ring.
Next, wedding stories!
This past weekend I had 2 weddings where I got to basically take the lead but there was another wedding assistant there to make sure I didn't skip anything or mess anything up. The first one [sidebar: I'm having some internal issues about how to designate these weddings because wedding A rehearsed first, but wedding B took place first, anyway, I'm going to go with ceremony order, not that it matters to anyone but me, but I've digressed]. Anyway, at the first one's rehearsal, the minister said that she didn't think that she'd have any stories from that wedding since there were no attendants and the ceremony was really straightforward, that wasn't the case. The bride accidentally dropped the groom's ring in the grass and the ceremony had to stop for a few minutes while they searched the grass for the ring.
The other wedding was a bit of a fiasco because it started to rain about 20 or so minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. I ended up having to cram 100 or so guests into a gazebo. It was a bit stressful, but it was a relief to know that I could handle a ceremony in the rain.
No news on my job hunt.
That's it. The end. I'm done. It seems so anti-climactic, doesn't it?
