good things for other people
today was my fathers last day of work at ups. he has been working there since he was 20 yrs old (i think. maybe 19, maybe 21. 30 years total). he took on the job to provide for his family. he stayed in his job to provide for his children. he has never liked the job, and always dreamed of other things.
now he can do them, and it's the most wonderful thing in the world.
jenna and i are going to take him to europe next year. we were going to do it this year, but we need more time to get the cash, and we want him to plan the exact trip he wants. he got his passport as a teenager, and hoped to go to england and france. instead he had kids and ups. so we're going to help him start doing those old dreams.
this is a day we've been counting down to for 2 years, and with him getting off work tonight it's officially started.
