i'll try to updated more than once a week from now on.
i'm watching boondocks. i've always found the strip interesting. that cartoon seems so different, not where i thought he'd take it, but at it's root it is still so true to the strip. that combination of pride and rage, the willingness to point out the ridiculous, but to not let anyone look down on the community he himself is dissapointed by. a man who truly believes that positive speak, actions and beliefs can beat out all the negativity in the world, but who still knows you can recognize the ridiculous.
anyway. this week was interesting. we had a series of bad shows, in which actresses didn't...y'know...go onstage for their part of a song. or the scenery smacked into each other, and almost fell down. or i hit an actress with the wall. or i hit myself with the wall so hard i sliced open my ankle and started to bleed into my shoe (and onto the stage as a result). or one of the stage crew fell down a flight of stairs. or one of the actresses had a nervous breakdown halfway thru a show, and spent all of intermission sobbing and peeling her wig off. stuff like that.
sunday night's show was good though, so i'm hoping we've reached a turning point.
went to a guitar hero party at schmitty's friend jeff's place, where some of the secondary friends were (most of their names i forget). i brought jeffy with me because he'd never played guitar hero. it was a great time for all.
saturday night i went out to capitol city brewing company with all the run and tech crew, and had a great time. samantha, one of the wig girls, has said she'll be my new friend. yay! i have friends.
sunday we didn't have a matinee, so schmitty and i spent saturday night at my place (we've been going up there 2 or three days a week). we explored northwest while making our way home, then echo and i gymmed. after that schmitty and i went to Made In China, a great play about petty thugs in Dublin. i was pretty impressed.
today i meant to be useful, but instead i was lazy. it's my day off, dammit! instead i went shopping at old navy and got some new jeans and shirts, and target to get some house supplies and shoes. i spent WAY too much money, but it's nice too have some new clothes for fall, and shoes. i've still got more to get, and i refuse to feel guilty about it.
then echo and i gymmed, and hopped over to pub quiz. we were in second place at half time, but totally sucked in the second half and didn't even make it to the top 5. we were team Witty, Topical and Short.
i should go to bed now. work in the super early am and then an audition tomorrow night.
