lookit me! i have a job!
so, despite a little confusion with scheduling and what not, i got a job at arena stage on the run crew.
i didn't have to cancel my sub job today for tpr, altho i did have to cancel the twice weekly class i had planned on teaching.
also, i didn't know i was going to be starting at 10am this morning. so i stayed up till, like, 6. then i got a phone call at 10:15 being all "where are you?" and i was all "ohhhhhh. shiiiiiit"
but they were really chill about it, and despite the fact i'm the peon bitch, i'm happy to be there. even despite the fact that for the next two weeks i'll be working 10am to midnight 6 days a week, i like it. despite the fact i'm earning $12/hour (which, hey, after two weeks of 12 hour days, not bad), i like it. the only thing that would make it really good is if i were performing and not just moving sets.
annnyway. plans.
schmitty and i played house at e and ang's. i'm getting a bit more behind the idea of him buying a house. as long as we can agree that just because he owns a place we can still put it up for subletters and go be somewhere else for a while. not anytime soon, of course. there's grad school to be planned. plus, i can still take a few months at a time and go be somewhere else.
oh! we actually legitimately discussed my going back to china. it seems like the first time he's accepted the fact i will be leaving for a few months and it will impact us both. i guess now that he knows i'm here, for real, he isn't as willing to think of me going? so we've agreed that anything longer than 9 months is too long, and 6 months is pushing the limit. we have made time lines, because even i don't know that. i've told him he might as well make a request, because i'll be buying the tickets round trip anyway.
ugh. can't think of buying the tickets right now. too much to think about with the caymans, and jo and mel, angel's wedding, finding a flat (with all it's moving in fees), PLUS, daddy's retirement gift. Jenna has requested we push that back a bit, to allow us more time to build finances, and i'm thinking maybe that's not such a bad idea. it would give him a year to plan a vacation he really wants to go on. to do research, learn languages, etc.
oh. money. you scare me.
ok. can't focus anymore.
last note: it was so gloriously warm down here for the first week or so. like, 90 degrees. beautiful. and now it's, like, 65. cold. cold cold cold cold! wah! and people are all "oh, it's finally fall! yay!" and i'm all "bah! fall schmall! i moved to the south to be warm! give me my 80 with 90% humidity back!"
