getting excited in watertown
1: my house on boyd st. is amazing. it might have been a project 4 years in the making, but the finished results are proving beyond my wildest dreams.
2: i kind of love my family
3: i am sorry to anyone who exposed themselves to that last post. i sum it up to aspirin overdosing (spent the next 24 hours vomiting uncontrollably and regretting that previous 36 hours of decisions to eat aspirin like candy), not having more than 9 hours of sleep in 4 days, HUGE angst about being a quarter of a century old, and in general really really missing my friends and just wanting things to not be complicated.
4: i woke up in the middle of the night (aspirin overdose night) and couldn't move my arm. at all. from the shoulder down. like, pick it up with the other arm and it falls back down. not even being sure where all the digits are, and wrists bending in creepy directions not feel it. it took about 3 minutes, but i got the feeling back, but i haven't been that scared since i was shivering uncontrollably while trying to not vomit and faint last june. can anyone explain why this summer has been full of SO MUCH scary ass problems for my body? and, no, i'm not pregnant. i even took a test because i was sick to death of people suggesting i was (especially the people who say "oh, well you can bleed and still be prego." thanks guys). i would really appreciate it if my body would let me spend even a few days without wondering if that lump in my neck, or mole on my ankle, or spontaneous loss of bodily sensation wasn't indicitive of my inevitably tragically early demise.
5: i got my tooth fixed. thank you northern dental group for being everything i could ask for in a dentist. now i can enjoy europe (filling for only $200! woo!)
6: melby is pregnant! i've been wanting to write this for over a month now. i am SO happy for her.
7: I leave for europe in 3 days! less than three. i am going to fucking melt in istanbul and athens, but i don't care. i'll be seeing cigdem and kathi and inga and anna and maybe even dom if i can talk him into it. WOOHOO!
