martinis in madison
i am in madison. i have been drinking martinis.
the last time i was in madison, i was on a cross country trip with jim and it was my birthday.
now i am on a northeastern trip by myself and it is jim's birthday.
the world spins round :)
chicago was great. jenjen and i talked about alot, and worked out alot of stuff. basically 6 years of pent up anger and angst and hurt between the two of us, but we finally seem to be somewhere we can start to fix things.
starting to call america "home" instead of china. i think i'm making the transition faster this year.
clare is great.
i've eaten lebanese twice in the past week. this makes me super happy. if i can't have chinese i'll eat thai and lebanese.
being back on the diet feels good. now i just want to start working out again. it's, like, 60 degrees here, so running is difficult, but we're hopeful for tomorrow.
i got a pink plastic giraffe that sits on my cups edge. i named him toby. i think he may be gay. his twin sister is named josephine. did i mention it is great going out with clare? also, ryan is awesome. it's been fun. can't believe my vacation is almost over! it only just started!
i went to the zoo for the first time since i was a small child. first we went to the natural history museum, then we went to the zoo. we looked at the monkeys and the penguins! penguins! (i finally watched march of the emporer penguin), then we went and looked at the kitties. i just loooooooove lions. it was fun and i was like a little kid, and clare didn't pick on me for it. then i had REAL chocolate fudge cake at the cheesecake factory. it was a beautiful thing. now i have a fudge covered cheese fetus (the cheese fetus being from the POUND of cheese i ate with my chicago deep dish pizza, which is a 2" pie crust filleed to the top with cheese and then a layer of sauce on top, like frosting)
it has been good times :)
plus, schmitty calls to wish me goodnight, even tho i'm an hour behind and he has to stay up late.
