busy busy busy
my legs are killing me.
sunday julia was awesome. we played all class and she was really using her english. huzzah!
rehearsal was also choice. we got all the way thru the play. we weren't pushing our objectives, but we got thru it. did detail work after with matt and sean and i. i'm a little less petrified about thursday.
rene called me up and asked if i wanted to dinner with him and chris and chris' girlfriend, which i did. xinjiang was had. i enjoy that rene is also a veg, it makes sharing the meals easier. he is also pretty sensitive to my pepper problems, so the meals usually turn out really well. afterwards we cabbed up to tsinghua where i was meeting alex and his friends at blabla bar for a few beers. he paid for the cab, which i didn't notice till after i got out. it was really interesting seeing alex again. in many ways he is quite different from when i first met him, but some things are still really just the same.
hsi friends (joe, his roomie, and tristan - both aussies) were pretty chill, and good times were had over beer and vodka. then i hopped in a cab up to rene's and spent the night there, against what some would call my better judgement. i KNEW i had to start early today to get my visa, and i knew if i went there i wouldn't be getting to sleep early...but...well, i wouldn't be getting t sleep early anyway, so might as well enjoy being awake.
after roughly 4 hours of shut eye, we crawled out of bed, and i was on a bus back to renda by 8am.
list of things to do for the day were:
1 - shower
2 - get money's, photos, plane tickets, passport, etc in my bag and ready to be presented
3 - go to the hostel at andingmen and get a ticket saying i was staying there for the night, so as to have some proof of residence for the visa extension
4 - go to the psb, fill in paperwork, try to bribe worker into giving me a 2 month extension instead of a one month one.
5 - go home/work/where ever the time allows.
i gave myself 6 hours to do this all. i got it done in 3! awsomeness. so i got to sleep for two exta hours before work.
everything just worked out perfectly. the girl at the hostel gave me a receipt for free, which is 50rmb saved. spent 23rmb in cabs to speed things along. no lines at the psb, no trouble with the paperwork. couldn't get two motnhs, but it's only 160rmb each time, so i'll survive.
i was stunned. never has china moved so efficiently for me.
work was alot of fun, even tho i was exhausted. met up with dom afterwards and we got dumplings for dinner. he leaves tomorrow. this is great sadness for me. it is good new people have arrived adn the play is coming to a head, because i will need distractions.
now i have to get my ass to bed because i need to wake up in 5 hours for rehearsal. ugh.
also, i drank at least two liters of water yesterday, and at least another two today. dehydration is me! and now i'm peeing like a racehorse. blurgh.
