I seriously did a double take with the tv when they said it on the news and had to figure out for a moment if I had accidentally fallen asleep.

That's the feeling I got on the matter, like he did it to shock everyone and try to hang out with the cool progressive kids.

Or something.

the coolest thing is that no matter who wins, a barrier will be broken, either a black president or a female vp..too wonderful

ugh. Palin and wonderful shouldn't ever go in the same thought. I was reading an article at huffington post that told the story of Thurgood Marshall retiring from the Supreme Court. Bush 1 was President, and he appointed Clarence Thomas, a black man who was also a partisan political hack who was pretty much Marshall's exact opposite. Marshall, on hearing about Thomas's appointment, said "A black snake can bite you just as bad as a white snake ( ... )

I agree completely on everything you said here. I'm thankful that you're able to put everything I was feeling/sensing so eloquently into words. Feel free to ramble/grumble as much as you like!

Mmm, Benedryl.

I'm not surprised. He couldn't choose Romney because he lost so badly in the South. And Huckabee is too far right. It makes sense. Obama is saying he is the more progressive (change) candidate.. and yet, he choose an old school democrat as a VP. McCain's arguement is going to be he's the more progressive because he was the one out of the two that was willing to put a woman on the ticket.

Either way.. this election is going to be interesting.
