Back to the.. ?

Sunday night I really fucked up my back... like big time. I could barely walk and the pain was insanely intense. I knew it had something to do with me spending the day mounting the tv on wall but when the pain started, I wasn't lifting anything heavy. I was screwing in phillips head screws and didn't require much bending at all. But all hell broke loose. I took vicodin and it didn't make the slightest dent into the pain. I could barely walk and had to roll out of bed. I've had back pain before but this was orders of magnitude greater.

Ok, so what, I'm getting older, this is to be expected. Here's what kind of freaks me out. Sunday night I could barely walk from the pain. I was thinking about getting a cane or a walking stick. On Wednesday, I was all better. Not a bit of pain at all. I've been a gym rat before, I know muscle recovery and this is not right. Something else was going on. Pinched nerve or whatever, I don't know but it wasn't simple muscle fatigue. That should still be sore but today it is as if absolutely nothing happened. That's weird to me.

I've been planning on starting P90X soon. I miss being in shape. Back when I was a gym rat, I always focused on muscle balance and the back while most chicken legged men were only concerned with biceps and pecs. As a result, I had incredible posture. Strangers would come up to me and ask me about my posture... it was weird but great at the same time. Then I went to college and it all fell apart. I'd like to be there again and hope P90X can help. But this mysterious disappearing back injury concerns me. Perhaps it is just a sign that I've allowed my muscles to get too far out of wack. At this point I don't know. But I'm going to find out the answer and damn it, I will have insanely great posture again! It will happen!
