...Robert Jordan is dead.

For those of you who don't know who he was, Jordan wrote the Wheel of Time fantasy series.  This is one of my all-time favourite series of all time; the characters were incredibly well drawn, the world he created was rich and detailed and real, and the plot was convoluted and complex without being either repetitive or ( Read more... )

i've heard from so many of my highschool friends who were reading the series back then -- it's almost been a reunion!

Yeah, its a good series, but he could have cut out some major plot lines and still had a really good (but shorter) series of books.... I'm like you, though, there are several books where absolutely nothing happened .... sigh! I guess we'll never know!

Apparently he *did* finish dictating his notes to his wife and assistant -- and of course, he's had the last scene written since he started the fourth book -- so we will get some version of an ending, at least.

i *really* want to know what happens with Mat.
