Prologue: Your Brother's Hand

“You shall achieve destruction where you stand,
In intimate conflict at your brother's hand.”
-Edna St. Vincent Millay

Oooh. I'm always a sucker for AU's in this vein and this looks really promising. I really like the fact that Sirius (despite the audience being told over and over again what an intelligent, if impetous person he is) is portrayed as such at this point.

Kudos for bringing another slant to this character. Will look forwards to more. Cheers!

so, this was so awesome that I had to come all the way over from FA to lj so i could throw a review at you :D *whew*. anyway! the beginning really drew me in - horray for starting in the middle of things! i was very impressed with this part too: "He wants to scream; he wants to cry, but something bright and jagged catches in his chest and he realizes that he's laughing instead, laughing like his heart will break, and he doesn't think he will be able to stop." I think that part's been done a bajillion times, and that line was very heartfelt and not drawn out for paragraphs, thank god. mmm, wonderful pacing, whole way through. I'm so excited about reading the rest of this! :D
