since it's the 25th anniversary of john lennon's death, i suppose it's as good a time as ever to ( say something that's been rattling around my head for a few days. )

Yay! Long Justyn post.

I enjoyed reading this....although I am worried about you linking hands with a scary older man and running down the street - yeah that's the mental image I got when I read this.

I went a few years without evening noticing what day of the December it was, but since it's the 25th anniversary and I can't escape it, I have been thinking about it. It still makes me sad. But you're right about the Beatles belong to the past and the unique sense of loss that causes. I've thought of that before. It's an amazing notion and you said it quite well.

Hi Justyn,

Great post, as always. I totally agree with your sentiments. And I think a lot of critics still use "The Beatles" as a stick to beat everything else with. It's pretty sad. "... Ducking under benches and leaping over trash cans, running away from a crazed mob - not of fans, but of experts." :D Brilliant.

Thanks for your email last month. Yep, that email ad is still my regular address. Actually, I also have a "secret" blog (which can actually be viewed by the whole world, because it's public!) so you're welcome to dip in anytime you want.

Just email me with any thoughts you have about anything - it would be pleasure to hear your opinions on music, politics, whatever.

Take care, dude! Hope you have a decent Christmas and hopeful New Year :)

David
