RP Log: [Jounouchi, Shizuka, Kisara, Seto, and Honda]

May 01, 2006 01:17

Summary: This is sort of old. It takes place on Honda's birthday; April 19th. Kisara pulls everyone for the traditional birthday ambush, including the moody Jounouchi. Hilarity ensues. Watch as Shizuka and Honda attempt to keep from jumping each other's bones on the freaking coffee table keep their relationship hidden. Lolz.

Notes: Abrupt ending. May or may not be continued :D ♥

Jounouchi couldn't think of any place else on the planet he would want to be less than where he was right now. Kisara had called him up, insisting he meet her and a few others to go over to Honda's place for another impromptu birthday party. He'd resisted, claiming he had homework and other duties, but he'd made the mistake of saying before that he had the day off from his new job, so he was basically screwed before he started. And now, here he was, standing on the sidewalk a few blocks from Honda's apartment waiting for people to take him to a party he really didn't want to be at. Sure, Honda was his best friend. Blah blah blah. Like he couldn't just say happy belated birthday and get the guy a Hot Wheels and be fine and dandy. Jeez.

"You did this last year, Kisara-san? I wish I could've been there!" Shizuka said with a smile, holding the present she'd gotten for her snookums Honda to her chest.

Kisara nodded happily, holding a cake covered with plastic wrap. "Yep! I figure we should make it a tradition. Neh, Seto?"

"Why am I here again?" Seto looked down at the two girls, a brow raised.

"Because Honda's your friend and you love us?" Kisara said and batted her eyelashes.

Seto just gave her a look. "Right."

Shizuka giggled and looked ahead, seeing her big brother. "Oniiichan~!" she called, picking up her pace.

Jou looked up from the ground as he heard Shizuka's cheerful call. Man, they all look REALLY peppy, he thought, forcing a dull smile. "Hey, Shizuka," he waved, then turned his eyes to Kisara and Seto. A regular party already. "Did I mention how GLAD I am you called me?"

Shizuka hugged her brother tightly. "It feels like I haven't seen you in ages~"

Kisara rolled her eyes at Jou. "How dare I think you'd want to see your best friend on his birthday, Jou dear."

Seto just smirked a bit, liking how he was rubbing off on her.

"Just what I was thinking," Jounouchi muttered with a lifeless smirk, then loosely wrapped his arms around his sister. "I've been busy with-" he paused. "...Stuff."

Shizuka giggled a bit. "That's very descriptive, Oniichan."

Kisara just shook her head and started onward again. "Whatever you say."

"Hmm," the blonde muttered, shoving his hands into his pockets as he followed along. "Does he even know we're coming? Or is this some sort of surprise thing you cooked up?"

"Does it really matter?" Kisara asked, turning her head a bit. She loved Jou but his mopey-ness was starting to get on her nerves.

Jou arched a brow. "Uh, well. He might not BE there. But hey, I'll just keep my mouth shut," he said, looking off to the side. Practically drag me here, then rip my head off for a QUESTION....

Seto snickered a bit.

Shizuka cleared her throat. She knew that Honda was home but, well...couldn't exactly say anything with her brother around. "Anyway! Um..."

Meanwhile, Honda was sitting at his desk, staring at a blank computer screen. "....okay. My paper is just going to MAGICALLY appear on the screen........NOW!" he said, but of course, nothing happened. "Dammit."

After a few more attempts, the doorbell broke his....concentration?. "GOT IT," he yelled, leaping from his desk and dashing through the living room. Thank God, he sighed to himself, then slid open the front door to find Seto, Shizuka, Jounouchi and Kisara holding a cake. He blinked for a moment, then a soft smirk crossed his face. "Oh, you guys are gonna make an old man cry."

Seto smirked. "Well don't, I don't have a hankerchief."

Kisara nudged him and smiled brightly. "Happy Birthday Honda-kun~!"

Shizuka looked at him and couldn't help but blush a little.

Honda grinned at Seto and Kisara, then noticed Jounouchi hanging around in the back. "You even got the emo kid out of his dark abyss. This is the best birthday ever!" he said dramatically.

Jounouchi glared at him, but gave a half smirk anyway. "Happy birthday, asshole."

"Oh, this is just too much. The emotion is overwhelming," Honda replied dryly.

"Can we just get in the house before the mutt starts to read us poetry or something?" Seto asked before pulling something out of his pocket and tossing it to Honda. "Here's a gift card since I couldn't think of anything."

"And by couldn't think of anything, he forgot until today," Kisara said with an 'innocent' smile.

"Hush."

"Oh, I feel so loved," Honda said, slipping the card into his back pocket with a smirk. He stepped aside to let the others in, and sweetly smiled down at Shizuka. But then he remembered that...Jou was there. And of course, he still hadn't broken the news. And now...well. Now wasn't a good time.

Shizuka blushed a bit and held out her gift. "Here Hi...Honda-san," she said. It felt strange to call him that now but oh well.

"...Oh! Thanks, Shizuka-chan," he said politely, taking the gift and smiling. Honda found himself fighting the urge to hug her but...ah. Not an option. As she walked by, he smiled, then turned to Jounouchi. "You comin?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm workin on it," the blonde replied, slipping past his friend. "Look, dude. I...I'm sorry if I'm being a pain," he said under his breath. "I don't wanna bring you down on your birthday."

Honda blinked, but smiled. "Forget it. If I were pissed off at you with the crap you're going through, I wouldn't be your best friend would I?"

"...Not a chance," Jounouchi smiled almost sincerely, shaking his head a bit and following the others into the living room.

Honda grinned to himself and walked behind Jou after closing the door. He looked around at everyone and put Shizuka's gift on the table. "Well, it's just a birthday dream come true."

"All that's missing is your mom hitting on Seto," Kisara said as she placed the cake on the table, starting to take over the covering.

"Thanks for reminding me," Seto replied dryly.

"Oh, that could be remedied. She's right back there," Honda pointed down the hall before leaning over with a smug grin. "Oh, MOOOOOOM~"

Seto looked at his girlfriend. "Thank you so very much."

"You're welcome!" Kisara said cheerfully.

"YES, HIROTO?" Honda's mother called back.

"Your boyfriend's here for another surprise birthday party! Come say hi!" Honda almost cracked up laughing right then.

"My WHAT?" was the reply, and Honda's mother came back from the hall and looked around, her eyes calming as she smiled. "Oh, Kisara-chan and Seto-san! It's so nice to see you two again! And Shizuka-chan!" Here eyes dulled a bit on Jou. "...And Jounouchi. Again."

"Yo, Honda's mom," Jounouchi waved.

She rolled her eyes with a dull grin. "It's never a party without Jounouchi," she said, then looked down at the cake. "Oh, Kisara, you made my boy another cake! You're lucky to have such thoughtful friends, Hiroto!"

"Yeah, yeah, I guess," he smirked.

Kisara waved to her. "Of course, I love making cakes! Especially for Honda-kun." She winked at him.

Honda waved a hand dully, smiling a bit. "Oh, stop it. You're gonna make me blush."

Shizuka giggled a bit, putting a hand over her mouth. She really wanted to hug him and kiss him but...darn.

Jounouchi fell onto the couch with a sigh. "Partay," he smirked slightly.

"Jeez, calm down, Jou. Don't make me get the hose," Honda rolled his eyes and his mom went back down the hall. He looked down at the cake for a moment. "So I suppose you people want plate and utensils and stuff?"

"No, we'll just eat it with our hands. Of course we want plates." Seto said dully, sitting down.

Shizuka smiled and started towards the kitchen. "I'll get them!"

Honda was about to comment to Seto, but his concentration was broken by Shizuka's sudden move. His eyes followed her, and he frantically looked at the others. "I-I better go help her!" he said, his eyes pleading for Kisara and Seto to keep Jou out of the kitchen before he rushed through the door.

Kisara gave Honda a quick nod before turning back to the boys. "So!" She paused. "Seen any good movies lately?"

"And you say I'm bad at smalltalk." Whap. "That was slightly uncalled for."

Jounouchi arched a brow. ".....Oh, but it was still funny."

Honda stopped when he got through the kitchen door, seeing Shizuka looking through the cabinets. "....Hey," he said after a moment, smiling a bit sheepishly.

Shizuka turned around and smiled. "H-Hi!" Realizing they were alone, she hurried over to him and practically tackled him. She was just a wee bit excited.

"Whoa!" Honda blinked, Shizuka's hug knocking his back against the wall. After a moment, he wrapped his arms around the girl tightly and smiled. "Trying to assault me on my birthday?" he joked.

She giggled and nuzzled his chest. "Happy birthday Hiroto~" she said softly.

"Thanks," Honda replied softly, loosening the hug a bit. "....I'm sorry I haven't told Jounouchi yet."

"No, I'm sorry," she pouted and looked up at him. "We'll tell him soon...right?"

"..." Honda had to take a small gulp. Well. FIRST Jou needed to be out of that funk of his. Honda just couldn't sit there and say 'YO I'M DATING YOUR LITTLE SISTER FYI' when Jou was still this messed up over Mai. "....Yeah, soon," he said, though his heart wasn't really in it.

Shizuka let out a sigh and kissed his chin. "I know, I know...but for now..."

Honda smiled a bit, softly pressing his lips against Shizuka's as his hands rested on her waist.

Shizuka kissed back, resting a hand on his chest. She'd almost forgotten that there were people waiting for them in the other room.

Honda...actually did forget, smart boy that he was. He just sighed and leaned against the wall, bringing Shizuka with him.

Shizuka nuzzled his chest and sighed. "...we should get those plates and...stuff."

"...huh?" Honda replied dreamily. Oh yeah. They were in there for a REASON weren't they? And that reason was not to make out. ".....Perhaps we should."

She smiled and kissed him quickly before reluctantly pulling away. Wah, she wanted him to hold her again!

Honda smiled a bit before going over to the cabinet and pulling out the plates. "Forks are in there," he said, pointing to a drawer next to the sink. "Think you can handle that?"

"It'll be tough but I think I'll manage," she said with a smile, pulling open the drawer and gathering the forks.

"Oh you never cease to amaze me," Honda smiked as he grabbed a knife from the same drawer. He placed one last kiss on her cheek before he went back out into the living room, seeing Jounouchi still sprawled out on the couch. "Glad to see nothing exciting happened while I was gone."

"Oh, yeah. We thought we should wait till you were back before the stripper popped out of Kisara's cake," Jounouchi said. See he can still make lame jokes even if he's depressed :D

Kisara snorted. "Yes. It's a very small stripper but a stripper regardless."

"Oh I've always WANTED a little stripper!" Honda said, putting the plates on the coffee table as he sat by it. Holding up the knife, he looked to Kisara. "Tell her to get out of there, or she's gonna be filleted."

"Just cut the damn thing," Seto said as Shizuka walked in with the forks in hand.

"....Oh, yes sir," Honda eyed Seto for a moment, but took the knife to the cake. "That poor stripper."

Shizuka jumped a little. "W-What?!" she squeaked.

Honda blinked. Oh yeah. Shizuka hadn't been there. "...Nothing. Really," he laughed hesitantly, finishing the cake cutting.

"Oh...okay," she said and placed the forks on the table.

"We'll weep for her later," Jounouchi said, leaning over. "Cake first."

"You have such regard for human life," Honda said dryly.

"You read Chuck Palahniuk novels. You have nothing on me."

"True."

Seto snickered a bit at that.

Kisara gasped and put her hands to her cheeks. "Was that Jounouchi? Saying something witty?"

Jounouchi smirked, but rolled his eyes at Kisara. "Don't go having a heart attack. I'm not a total stick in the mud, y'know."

"Coulda fooled me," Honda replied.

"Are you gonna pass out the damn cake or what, birthday boy?"

Shizuka laughed a little. "Be nice Oniichan or no cake for you!"

"If I was being nice, I wouldn't be me," Jounouchi pointed out.

Honda nodded in agreement. "He's right."

"Whatever you say~" Shizuka said while sitting down.

Jounouchi nodded for a moment, but he quickly reached for the plate that Honda pushed in front of him.

"Please, take it and stop talking," Honda said with a slight grin.

"Can do!" Jounouchi agreed.

Kisara just rolled her eyes. "Boys."

"Hey don't associate ALL of us with that," Honda said, pointing at Jou and handing Shizuka a plate with the other hand. "I think it's a totally different species."

"Bite me, birthday boy," Jounouchi replied taking a fork to his slice. "I'm HERE aren't I?"

"Unfortunately."

Shizuka giggled. "Then what does that make me?"

"..." Honda blinked. He couldn't very well insult SHIZUKA like he did Jou. "I plead the fifth." Yeah.

"...Well. That was oddly lame," Jounouchi replied, arching a brow at Honda. "Care to try again?"

"Nope."

Shizuka laughed and started on the cake. "Yum! You're a very good cook Kisara-san~"

"Aw, thanks! It's not any amazing feat..." Kisara said as she ran a hand through her hair.

"Oh, don't be so modest," Honda said, taking his own piece after laying out other pieces on the table for Kisara and Seto. "You did even better than last year."

"Aw, you flatter me," she said as she poked at the cake with her fork.

"Yeah, yeah," Jounouchi said, already almost finished with his own piece. "So let's see what my sister got you, Honda. I'm dying to know," he said dully.

"You say it, but you don't mean it," Honda replied, but replaced the plate in his hands with the box Shizuka had handed him. "Should I? Or should we make Jounouchi suffer a bit more?"

Shizuka pouted a bit. "Aw, I want you to open iiiiit~"

"....Oh fine," Honda rolled his eyes, but gave her a quick, secret smile before he tore into the wrapping paper. Inside was a boxset that he'd been looking for for...quite some time actually. "Mystery Science Theater!" he said, practically squealing in amusement take a moment to recover from that image. "And it has Mitchell! Awesome!" He looked back over to Shizuka, brightly grinning. "Oh, how did you know?"

She blushed a little. "You mentioned it once and...well, I hear it's funny!" Shizuka almost added that she wanted to watch it with him later but...well.

Honda smiled, putting the box on the table. "I can't believe you remembered that," he said. "Thanks so much, Shizuka-chan," he smiled gently. I wish Jou wasn't here...kinda.

She blushed a bit more. "You're welcome, Honda-san~"

Honda couldn't help looking at her for a few more seconds before he tore his gaze away. No reason to give Jou a reason to lose his good mood. "Anyway..."

"Yes, anyway!" Kisara said happily, leaning against Seto. "So, how was your birthday before we appeared to make it the best thing ever?"

"Oh, well. When you put it that way I guess I didn't HAVE a birthday before you all got here," Honda sighed, rolling his eyes. "It was dull. Just like every other day of my life. And what were you all doing before you had to drop everything and celebrate my day of birth?"

"Baking your cake," Kisara replied. "My day has just revolved around you!"

Seto rolled his eyes.

"Don't be jealous now, Seto. I'm sure if you try you can keep Kisara out of my arms," Honda joked.

"Oh, that's asking too much," Seto said while giving Honda an amused look.

"I know, I'm restraining myself at the moment." Kisara gripped the couch, faking looking rather nervous.

Smirking, Honda leaned over to Kisara. "We can't do this in FRONT of him, Kisara!"

"I know, I know! I'm sorry!" she cried, putting her other hand over her eyes.

Jounouchi rolled his eyes. "As FASCINATING as this little triangle is," he said dully. "I'd rather not hurl up the cake I just ate, please."

Kisara stuck out her tongue. "Oh, get a sense of humor. Even Seto thought that was funny.

He looked rather offended for a moment. "Did not."

"See?" Jounouchi answered.

"If I didn't have to clean it up later, I would throw cake at you, Jou,” Honda snorted.

Shizuka giggled. "You two are so silly~"

"Silly isn't the word I'd use, but," Seto said witih a smirk, leaning his chin on his hand.

"Glad to know his threats on me amuse you all," Jounouchi said dully.

Honda beamed. "They never cease to amuse me, anyway!"

"As long as someone is, I can die happy," Seto said with a smirk. Always avoid alliteration.

Kisara sighed and looked at Shizuka. "Why can't we ever have a normal conversation with these guys?"

Shizuka laughed. "I think the world would end if we did!"

"Where's the fun in NORMAL conversation?" Honda asked. "Hi! How are you? Good, and youself? Fine and dandy, sir! Fantastic. Well, now I'm off to shoot myself in the head from boredom. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!" Honda carried on a conversation with himself.

Seto looked over at Honda. "Can I buy some pot from you?"

"20 bucks for the stash in my underwear drawer," Honda said, not phased in the least.

"Oh, well, if it's touched your underwear I just can't use that," Seto replied, not missing a beat.

"You've never said that BEFORE-"

"OKAY THAT'S TOO MUCH INFORMATION," Jounouchi said, putting his empty plate on the table with a thud. "There's only so much talk of Honda's underwear drawer I can take."

Shizuka was cracking up at this point. Although she wished they'd talk about Honda's underwear drawer a little more haha.

Kisara just sighed. "See? See?!"

Honda looked at Jou and pointed down the hall. "What would you rather talk about my mom's underw-"

"OH FOR GOD'S SAKES, HONDA STOP!" Jounouchi cried in digust, burying his face into the couch.

"What you've been in it bef-"

"ONE TIME. WHEN I WAS 12."

Seto made a face. "Wow, too much information there."

"I was young and stupid," Jounouchi pleaded.

"Yeah. Now you're old and stupid," Honda said, examining his new boxset-o-hilarity.

"...Wow. Who needs ex-girlfriends when I have you as my best friend," Jou dully replied.

"Aw, you know we love you Jou." Kisara paused. "Well, a certain someone here excluded."

"Hmm," Jounouchi muttered under his breath. "I feel the love."

Kisara sighed. Oh, why do I even bother?

Honda snickered at the exchange. Then he looked at the clock, and remembered that paper. "Okay, guys. I love you for the party, but you gotta get out. I have a paper due tomorrow, and I don't have a title."

"You can come up with a title five minutes before the class," Jounouchi said, blinking a bit.

"...Let me rephrase that. I don't EVEN have a title," Honda said.

Kisara laughed a little. "I understand."

"You do that a lot, don't you?" Seto snickered.

"What can I say? I'm a procrastinator," Honda shrugged, standing up from the table and stretching out his arms a bit. "So yeah. Get the hell out."

Seto stood up himself. "Congratulations on being one year closer to death."

Kisara rolled her eyes and followed him to the door. "Everything's just sunshine and butterflies for you."

"Of course."

"Yeah, yeah. Happy closer to death day to me, whatever," Honda smirked as the others followed him. He slid the door back and waited. "Thanks for dropping by, kids."

Shizuka walked rather slowly, wondering if "get the hell out" applied to her. Well, it did as long as her brother was in the room, she supposed.

"See you tomorrow, Honda-kun~" Kisara said with a smile and a wave. Seto just nodded his head a bit towards his 'friend'.

"Your good bye warms my heart, Seto," Honda nodded back, watching as they left.

Jounouchi was leaving next. "Alright, old man. See you tomorrow."

Honda grinned. "Thanks, Jounouchi. Really."

"Hey, best friend's 18th birthday. I know I can't miss that," Jou replied with a slight smile. "Have a good one." With that he left, forgetting about Shizuka.

Shizuka looked up at Honda and smiled a bit. "Does that apply to me too?" she asked before leaning in for a hug.

Honda smirked a bit, closing the door behind him. "Does that answer your question?" he replied, pulling her close.

Shizuka blushed deeply and giggled a little. "I suppose so~"

"Hmm," Honda muttered, just taking a moment to enjoy the hug. He pulled away after a moment and smiled down at her. "So. What's up?"

Still blushing, she smiled. "Not much. Just...happy~"

"Well, good," he nodded, taking her hand and leading her back to the couch. "That's what I like to hear."

"Are you happy too?" she asked, leaning in and kissing his cheek softly.

"Ridiculously so," Honda replied, slipping an arm around Shizuka’s waist and grinning.

"Yay!" Shizuka laughed a bit and closed her eyes. "It feels funny to call you 'Honda-san' now."

"Well, EVENTUALLY...I'll tell him. I swear!" Honda promised. "I just...I can't do it until I'm sure he's over this Mai thing, y'know?"

hizuka nodded a few times. "I know, I know. I'm sure it'd be best if you told him..."

"Probably," Honda sighed with a heavy smile. "But still. It's...fun sneaking around?" he tried. Might as well make the best of it, right?

She nodded. "I-It is! In a way~ Kinda feels like we're doing something bad but we don't care."

"Oh, we're such rebels," Honda snorted, scratching his hair a bit.

"So scandalous," she said and snuggled against him a bit.

"That's us," Honda had to roll his eyes. "Next, let's jay-walk."

Shizuka fake gasped. "Hiroto! That's going too far!"

"Oh, come on! Let's throw caution to the wind, Shizuka!" Honda said dramatically. "Let's cross the street somewhere other than a cross walk! Let's take off the 'do not remove' tags on our mattresses! Let's leave lights on when we leave a room! We'll be like Bonnie and Clyde!"

Shizuka just rolled her eyes with a smile. "You're so silly!"

"I try," he smirked.

"And you do a very good job, sweetie," she said while patting him on the head.

"Oh goody. I can die happy," Honda smiled. He looked down at the cake that Kisara had left. "Man. Mom's gonna be happy about that," he said.

Shizuka blinked. "It's possible to be upset about cake?"

"...." Honda blinked. "Yes. My mother is going to be personally offended by Kisara's cake."

"Huh." Shizuka blinked as well.

"...." And Honda really had nothing to say to that. "...I should put it away. Before it gets stale or something," he said.

Shizuka just laughed a bit. "Then can we watch that Mitchell episode thingie?"

"Of course we can!" Honda said. Paper-shmaper.

Shizuka smiled. "Yay~ So...basically people just talk through the movie?"

Honda leaned down to collect the dirty dishes that the others had left, smiling a bit. "Yeah. THey get these really horrendous movies and just tear them to shreds. It's pretty magnificent," he explained.

Shizuka giggled. "It sounds it!"

"And it absolutely is!" Honda laughed. He put the plates in one hand and picked up the cake with the other and grinned. "It's probably one of the greatest things to happen to cinema ever."

"Even better than Star Wars?" Shizuka fake gasped, putting a hand to her cheek.

"....You know, it just might," Honda said, feigning shock as he moved back into the kitchen.

"Amazing!" she laughed and put some of her hair behind her ear. "We're so silly."

Honda snorted a bit, putting the leftover cake on the counter and putting the dishes in the sink. "Oh so very," he turned back to her with a small smile. I'm glad she could come.

"Yep~" she said with a bob of her head.

Honda found a cover for the cake and laughed a bit more. Shizuka really was strange sometimes, but that just made her even more fun. "Well now that that's settled," he said, placing the container on the table.

The End
