Tomorrow, I'm hopping a plane with my mom to Austin, Texas to visit my uncle over Mother's Day weekend. Mommy is excited to see her older brother, and I'm excited to see
Don Quixote, the ballet being performed by the
Ballet Austin company. We have tickets to the performance this Sunday, and I can't wait!
To make the plane ride more tolerable, I checked out
Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution from my university's library. It's a fabulous, thick, and detailed book of Marie's history, told from a focus on her fairy tale wardrobe. I'm only a handful of pages into the biography, and it's already a wonderful read - I absolutely recommend it. The author, Caroline Weber, is never dull or long-winded, and yet still extremely knowledgeable. If you love Queen Marie or fierce fashion, you should totally look into it.
I'm taking just one class this summer, Film Appreciation, which begins on May 12. Believe it or not, it's a prerequisite for Theatre majors I've been putting off. Hopefully, it's going to be a lot of fun movies to watch and analyze. I'm already a huge classic film dork - ask me how many times I've seen Gone With the Wind!
I tried an iced Honey Latte at Starbucks this afternoon, and it was yummy. Nothing exceptional or classic, in my opinion, but still good enough. ♥
Have a wonderful Mother's Day!
