He was lying on one of the beds, staring at the ceiling and trying to formulate a new potion for one of his and George's new ideas. When the door opened, he lifted his head, thinking it was Madame Pomfrey with more of the disgusting draught to help grow back a tooth. Instead he saw Murph. He eyed the other warily as he came up next to him. "Murph."

"Are ye doin' alright then?" Murph asked, genuinely concerned. "How're ye feelin'?" Inside he braced himself for another backlash, not wanting to relive Fred's anger, but preparing himself for it just in case.

"You mean aside from the fact that my face still tingles, not in an okay way, and my gums are burning because I have a tooth to regrow?" He raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. "I'm alright. Bit bored, actually. Aren't you supposed to be in class?"

Coming from an even more impoverished family than the Weasleys, Murph didn't have much to give in the way of get-well gifts. As it was, Murph withdrew his hands from behind his back and handed Fred a tattered and worn robot plushie.
"My Da gave it to me before he left," Murph explained. "Thought ye'd like some company. His name's Douglas... if ye care."
Looking into Fred's eyes, Murph continued to say what he felt was necessary, even though he had to swallow his pride with great difficulty. "I'm really sorry 'bout last night, Fred."
