Wow, it feels SO nice to be back at AU, seriously. I went home for break, which was relaxing, but quite boring. Hopefully next year I can go on an Alternative Break trip to some place warm. My friend Casey went to Jamaica, and my friend Mike went to Bolivia...how awesome!
Yesterday I got the HOLOGRAM MAKING kit in the mail for our lab group in U. Physics II! It's very exciting, because we got to choose what we wanted to do, and Professor Medsker was really interested in it. I have to look over the directions, since it looks rather complicated, what with the laser and exposures and such. But I'm sure it will turn out great, and be a unique learning experience!
Over break and yesterday I did a lot of planning of my schedule for next semester, and for the next few years. Some of the Honors Colloquia for next semester look incredibly interesting...like "Brain and Behavior: From Gene to Cognition," "Language in the New Millenium," "Women Presidents and Prime Ministers in Anglo-American Systems," and "Media Culture in the Digital Age." Unfortunately, I may not have space to take any of those, especially because I have very few credits to spare (double majoring in Physics and Chemistry does have its disadvantages). Tomorrow I'm meeting with the chair of the CAP department, Dr. Gray, to hopefully get his signature on my Permit to Study form. I want to take a computer science course for major credit at Elizabethtown College, near my home. That will be one less class I have to take here. Then on Friday I have a meeting with my academic advisor, Marla Boren (great lady, really on top of things), to have her approve my permit and talk about classes for next semester. Gah! What a busy week! But tonight is going to be fun, because I have a Student Honors Board meeting, and I haven't seen those guys for two weeks!
