Me, me, meth!

So I finally got a chance to see the Kids in the Hall live on Saturday night.

Ahhh, it was amazing. First, we went to eat at Bubba Gump which is right next to the Nokia Theatre (where the show was). The whole time we were eating, I kept staring at the screen above the entrance to the theatre which kept showing the same clips from their 2002 tour.

Onto the show, our seats were in the seventh row of the Mezzanine, which I thought was going to be awful because it seemed so far away. Actually, they were pretty awesome. I didn't realize how small the theatre actually was (well, not super small, but you know what I mean). Also, they played "Heterosexual Man" by Odds before the show started, which was just so awesome on so many levels. Annnnnd then the show started with the "Rape Kevin" filmed bit.

When "Having an Average Weekend" started playing and they finally ran out, I was freaking out (in a good way, of course). All of the new material was hysterical. I really loved the Buddy Cole monologue (there's a few that I really like from the series, but sometimes they're kind of annoying, to be honest). A few times, Kevin started laughing during the show (especially in the jealous gay ex-boyfriends sketch). Mark and Bruce looked like they were laughing during the salesmen sketch, too. Also, during Superdrunk, it was hysterical when Dave ran out, looked at his shirt and just said, "My shirt's inside out" and started cracking up. :)

The show was just so funny that I wish I could afford tickets to go see them again in Pennsylvania. :\ Still, I'm grateful that I got to see them at all. Plus, I got a Kids in the Hall t-shirt finally (the 30 Helens agree one).

So, all in all, it was really fucking awesome. I wish we could've stuck around to meet them after the show, but we had to catch the last train back. Next time, definitely. :)
