Oy. So I haven't updated this in what, 4 or 5 months now? Ugh, too long. I'll be amazed if anyone actually reads this. :P There's just so much that's happened in the last few months I kept forgetting I had this LJ (with a paid account, too). Anyway, I graduated high school on June 14th, which was amazing and surreal. I'm going to school now at Ramapo College, which is pretty good so far. It's only an hour and a half away from home so I've been driving home every weekend, pretty much; there's nothing to do up there. :P I'll write more about college later.
And now, to the reason I wanted to update this again.. Yesterday I went to NYC with my mother, and here's the best part, we had tickets to see a taping of The Daily Show! We had to wait about an hour and a half in the pouring rain, but it was definitely worth it. Our seats ended up being in the fourth row and right in front of Jon Stewart. It seriously looked like he was talking right to us (I nearly died). He was incredibly nice and smart (funny, too, of course). The best part of the taping was probably when they filmed the check in with Stephen Colbert. They taped two different sequences (I haven't seen the actual episode yet, so I'm not sure what they used). After the first take, Jon just said, "Eh, let's just fuck around". Also, it was great to see Stephen crack Jon up (which was between sequences, I think). The interview was really great, too. I'm not sure what they ended up using, because Jon went way longer than he was supposed to, but it was just so interesting. And all the laughter/applause/boos that you hear are recorded from the audience (without any direction, too), so they really encourage you to laugh loudly.
After the taping, we went over to see Spamalot again. We bought tickets right before we went to the Daily Show studio at about 3. We ended up getting 6th row tickets, center orchestra. Oh my god. I forgot how much I absolutely fucking LOVED this show. The other time I saw it was in August 2005 (with the original cast, minus Sara Ramirez and sadly, Hank Azaria, who I fucking LOVE). Seeing it again, with the seats we had, totally made me completely obsessed with it again. Simply amazing.
I really feel like I could die happy now.
Well, I have to go now, but expect more updates from me in the very near future (maybe some icons, too, because I have both PSP and PS now). :) I'm going to try my hardest to update this pretty regularly now. I hope everyone's well (I haven't even looked at my FL in forever :( ugh).
